"Roger is a gentleman and a professional of the highest caliber. My wife and I are building a home in North Stonington, CT and hired a virtual architect 2 years ago to design our home. After $5,000, and 3 months, we were left with what felt like an intern-level deliverable. We swore that the next time we used professional services, we would find someone who had experience in the industry, knowledge of the area, and the passion for building a young families dream home, not just processing work. While this can seem like a long time, remember that the architect must communicate with your municipality to determine codes, communicate with you as the homeowner with any changes or adjustments, and coordinate with the construction crew. 

If you simply remodel your home or add an addition, the time to draw up the plans will be shorter since fewer permits and surveys are required. Even still, it’s best to plan for a few months for the architect to complete this part of the project.

Once your project has commenced, most residential drawings are completed within 3-5 weeks. Commercial projects generally take longer.
