"Leandro and his crew did a great job staining my house and painting the trim. The crew showed up when they said they would and came everyday (weather permitting) until the job was finished. His price was very fair for the work performed. Most importantly, Leandro returned all my emails within minutes. Highly recommend.."

"John was very friendly and professional. He came to look at the job, gave a reasonable quote and shared with me his opinions on what I should do. I respected that and decided to hire him. He and his employee did a great job staining my deck that had been neglected. He was able to do the job in the time frame promised."

Small jobs welcome

"We had Martin paint our living room, hallway, foyer, heating elements, doors, and window trim. In addition, he put in new baseboards and chair railing. He replaced our entryways into the kitchen with nice molding. He took down and replaced our light fixture in the foyer. He was able to work off a benchmark photo to achieve the final result with very little input required from me. He really takes so much pride in his work, he's like a magician, waves his magic wand to create an amazing end product."

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can waterproof any wood that has not already been treated. A good way to test this is to splash some water on it. If the water starts to bead up, the wood is treated and most likely doesn’t need another coating.

If you have wood decking, there are several common deck problems that you might encounter. For example, your natural wood boards may fade over time due to things like sunlight, weather, and debris. On top of that, some types of wood decking can rot, grow mold, and attract destructive pests—including termites, carpenter ants, and woodpeckers.

Opt for an interior wood stain that is rated for your type of wood. Consider your personal style preferences as well as the overall use of the room when choosing a color. Remember, the color you see at the store may look different on your actual floors once applied. This is why if you have the chance, it’s helpful to test a few options on a scrap piece of wood in the room first. Once you narrow it down, you can test a small patch on an inconspicuous area in the room to see it on the actual floors.

Essential tools include brushes or rollers, drop cloths, sandpaper or power sanders, and appropriate cleaning supplies. Quality materials ensure long-lasting results.

Many decking oils can help slow down algae growth, but they don't completely stop it. These oils work by sealing the wood, which reduces moisture and, therefore, algae growth. Some decking oils also help protect against UV damage, but they need to be reapplied according to the manufacturer’s instructions to ensure the decking stays protected.
