Customers say: Quick response

"We needed Crown Molding installed in our living room. We found the style we liked and we called Brian after finding this company on Home Advisor. He returned our call within the hour. He arrived ON TIME the next day to measure the room for an estimate. We had an estimate within 24 hours and within a week, we had beautiful crown molding. He was meticulous and did not leave behind any debris. It actually came out better than we expected. This is not a job for a handyman, installing this type of woodwork requires skill and we highly recommend calling Concept Craftsman! Perfection is the cornerstone of this company! Thank you Brian - we will definitely call on you again if we need anymore woodwork done in our home."

"We love our cabinets! They look fantastic while remaining affordable. The friendly staff at AWD helped us from start to finish. They are very knowledgeable and gave us advice and tips when needed. They were receptive and patient with our ever-changing needs. Once we finalized our purchase, we received our cabinets within two weeks! The cabinets are very sturdy and the color is beautiful. The hinges and hardware are high quality. We are extremely pleased with AWD and would recommend them to any friends or family looking for good cabinets at a fair price."

"It is very convenient, and reasonably priced.  The only thing that they could work on is the punctuality of the pick up times.  The rest of the experience was satisfactory.  My daughter has also used them.  I would highly recommend this service."

"We couldn’t be happier with the European Custom Cabinets team, who helped us transform our old, barely usable master bathroom! Our original bathroom was... let's call it "cozy." It had a single vanity sink and a freestanding shower that was so comically small, with such terrible water pressure, it felt like showering in a broom closet with a trickling garden hose. And, of course, no bathtub. We reached out to Angelo and the European Custom Cabinets team, shared our vision, and they turned our old, cramped, and dreary bathroom into a luxurious master bath spa! Now, we have a two-sink vanity, which means my wife can no longer hog the sink—a major victory! We also have a large soaking tub, which my wife and kids love (though if I'm being honest, most days it's a Barbie pool for the kids). Add to that new, spacious cabinets and a walk-in shower big enough to do a victory lap at the end of a tough day! We even had an outlet installed behind the new toilet for a bidet seat. Side note: I thought a bidet seat was the most ridiculous gift one could receive, but turns out it’s like the Rolls-Royce of bathroom experiences—warm seat, warm water, total luxury. There’s no going back to the savage, caveman days. Overall, we’re incredibly happy with the quality and professionalism of the entire team, and I highly recommend them to anyone considering a remodeling adventure!"

Closets questions, answered by experts

Some features and upgrades you can add (some of which increase the closet’s value) are: modular shelving, motion-activated lighting, climate control, custom lighting, cigar humidors, revolving shoe racks, jewelry shelves, custom woodwork, and built-in laundry hampers. While only truly luxury closets have all of these, many custom closets have at least one special feature listed above.

Whether it’s less expensive to build or buy a closet depends on both the type of closet and whether or not you’d be constructing it yourself. The cost of custom closets built by a pro ranges from $1,300 to $3,800, but you may be able to DIY it for as little as $400. By contrast, prefabricated options go as low as $200 and up to $3,000, so it’s almost always less expensive to go this route.

Clean regularly, avoid overloading shelves, and check hardware for wear to ensure longevity.

A "reach-in pantry" is a smaller, cabinet-style pantry that allows you to grab items by simply reaching inside. On the other hand, a "walk-in pantry" is like a closet or small room that offers a larger space that you can physically enter to get your food. Walk-in pantries allow for more customizable shelving. A reach-in pantry is usually around 5 feet wide by 2 feet deep, while a walk-in pantry is closer to 5 feet by 5 feet or larger.

A standard walk-in closet has dimensions of 7 feet by 10 feet at a minimum and an average of 100 square feet. Remember that the dimensions of the closet aren’t necessarily the usable space. This means that a 100-square-foot walk-in closet with shelves on each wall and an island may only have a walkable area of 50 square feet or less. Make sure you consider the effect of additions when you plan the room—mockups are a great idea.
