The communication was good, the quote was reasonable for the work provided, and the finished room was an amazing transformation. We'd definitely hire them again.

No major issues, so far we are happy with our bathroom remodel.

From drab to fab. My husband and I have hired Rick and his team for a couple different home improvement projects. We would not hesitate to hire Total Remodeler for future projects as we found them incredibly easy to do business with. Him and his team do not disappoint, they are very professional and Rick does not finish a project without making sure his customer is completely satisfied. We have already received numerous compliments on our new composite stairway and we got them done less than 1 week ago. Thank you to the Total Remodeler team for bringing our home back to life.

Phase one of the project was done in late January. With less than two week's notice, Rick and his crew rearranged their schedule to allow them to build an intricate handicapped ramp on my sloped property. What I feared would be an eyesore, which would offend my condo neighbors turned out to be a tasteful addition which allowed my husband to come home after three months of rehab! Rick and his crew were punctual, professional and accommodating. Furthermore, they cleaned up every scrap of wood and all their materials as well as the branches they had to cut to complete their plan! Phase two was completed last week. Total Remodelers returned to stain the now sufficiently cured wooden deck.. The stain they chose matches the siding exactly, and I have received numerous compliments on "the look " of the addition. As a bonus, they cleaned out a yellow jacket nest behind one of the shutters which abuts the ramp ( a task I have been asking management to address for over a month!) I would call Total Remodelers in a minute to complete any remodeling project, and have added Richard Matteau to my Christmas card list!

They were fast and efficient and did the job well.

Rick was very considerate and thoughtful in his suggestions - considering my budget and plans to use the bathroom in a rental area. He and his crew arrived when they were scheduled and finished the job in less time than planned.

Rick did a job 5 other professionals said couldn't be done. And at 1/3 the cost of other estimates.

rick was easy to work with. He got things done on time and grate .workmanship.

Rick was prompt and courteous, he and his workers were unobtrusive while working and cleaned up thoroughly afterward. The bathtub and tub surround are perfect, he even came after the work was done and installed an extra grab bar in the shower for free. I plan to hire him to put in a deck this summer.

Building an addition and two car garage as well as remodeling a bathroom and bedroom into a closet. Work is about 1/2 done but proceeding at a fast pace. Very friendly and willing to work with customer.

Rick was prompt and courteous during scheduling and planning. Our total bathroom remodel was finished within one week and came out spectacular! It looks like it costs double what we paid for it. Rick gave excellent suggestions and stayed within our budget. I can't recommend highly enough!

Revised Review - This was the worst example of quality workmanship I have ever witnessed - I have built two homes and remodeled three. He should NEVER be allowed to plumb any job - It was recently discovered he cut parts of my floor joist to conveniently fit plumbing, plumbed the shower drain upside down, and piece-mealed cold and hot water pipes to save himself a few bucks rather than use proper materials and pathways. The floor joist he cut compromised the integrity of my house, causing the adjacent bathroom floor to sink over an inch. He left plumbing under sink lose causing a flood the first time I turned on the sink. He installed a makeshift heater cover that was too tall causing the bottom drawer of the vanity to be inaccessible, he did not paint trim, he flooded the basement during his "plumbing" work leaving me with a mess and damaged flooring. I would NEVER hire this man for anything in my home. Old review initially this company appeared interested in quality work, as the job ensued there was issue after issue with sloppy quality from shortcuts for plumbing leading to code violations, unsecured pipes, loose pipes resulting in water inside brand new vanity, hot & cold water pipes for washer hooked up wrong and leaking, unfinished sheetrock prep for painting as agreed in the contract, vanity placed so bottom drawer was inaccessible due to heater height - which they were also hired to modify to fit, toilet tank seated improperly twice, sink plunger improperly working twice, and grout stains left on new ceiling. Twice I came home to large puddles left on my laundry room finished floor after plumbing work had been done. No effort to avoid water all over floor, much less clean up water spillage. Shower tile and floor work was done nicely. It appeared that they were more interested in hurrying onto another job. I would not recommend them for any plumbing or full remodel jobs.

The work completed was quality, but the cost was a little high.

I was not satisfied with their work. Terrible carpentry work. They used roofers for the cabinet doors with holes in them. Boards split from the screws. Lazy Susan doesn't work smoothly and drawers are crooked.

Very pleased with the renovations so far.

We hired Total Remodelers to build a sun room. We were very happy with the results. Rick was very pleasant and always answered our questions or concerns. We also hired him to put on a new roof and were very pleased with the work. He stayed within budgets on both projects. Very pleased with his work.

They did various work for me. Painting, installing new toilets, new floors, repairing deck, kitchen fixtures and iron railings for front steps. They did a great job and Rich always answered any of my concerns. I recommend them very highly.

Total Remodelers of Plainfield may damage more than they improve. Being shown a smile from the beginning of our introduction, we wouldn't believe we would be worst off signing a contract with Richard Matteau , owner of Total Remodelers. We asked appropriate questions and received appropriate answers. How could we predict what would happen? We trusted what we were told! You don't want this company on any part of your home. Don't be fooled like us by Home Advisors 4 plus stars. What we experienced was much carelessness, a huge lack of concern for our new and existing property.

Excellent communication and wonderful work. Smooth process start to finish...thank you for working with all my demands and crazy hiccups!!

We are very happy with their professionalism and our new roof. They even worked on the weekend to get it done.

Rick is very easy to work with. He stayed within budget. The job took longer than expected, but he stuck with it. Removing a tub and installing a tiled shower is a messy job, but we knew that ahead of time..

Called me right away, and easy to get in contact with. Let me know right away when he was available to come out, and gave estimate during first visit.

Total Remodeler built us an awesome deck. We are very satisfied with their work and would definitely use them again for future jobs. Peace :-)
