"Nightshade was the 3rd company I had in to quote new motorized shades in my home. After seeing what they had to offer, it was an easy decision to go with them. They gave me a fair price, with shades that were perfect for what needed. They had many different options and walked me through what would work best in each room. The customer service was top notch. When it was time for installation, they came in and made sure to cover my floors and did a quick, neat job. I would recommend them to anyone looking for window coverings. A+++"

Customers say: Quick response

"Elvin is great. He fixed my wood double front doors and applied paint that I had picked out, as well as new handles/lock. He took his time, was very polite, and made sure everything was in order before in left. My front doors look amazing. Will be hiring him again for more work around the house. Also, his pricing was very reasonable and on point for the amount of repair and painting work he did."

"Gary is professional, courtesy, up-front and honest. The project on paper was simple enough. It was suppose to involve altering the point of entry to some windows in our space, but when we went to remove more of the existing drywall, it quickly turned out to be a complete mess. Gary did an excellent job in adapting to rectify the situation, which involved jack-hammering granite, precise framing, drywall and paint. He stuck to the projected timetable of completion, arrived on-time daily, and while the ultimate pricing did fluctuate from the beginning of the project Gary was very clear from the beginning that pricing could increase if an intensive amount of jack-hammering was involved (which there was). Pricing was fair. Overall we would 10 for 10 involve Gary again for any serious carpentry or GC work we need completed in our space."

Window Treatments questions, answered by experts

Window capping costs between $1 and $2 per linear foot. Since your average window size is 24 by 36 inches, you’re looking at 10 linear feet in total, or $10 to $20 per window. Labor adds another $30 to $100 per hour to the project. If you have custom windows, you’ll spend more to have your windows capped. Fiberglass tends to cost more than vinyl and aluminum, while vinyl costs the least but has the shortest lifespan and may have a higher long term cost.

Energy-efficient windows cost more than other window types, but they can help you save on your monthly energy bills, get you some breaks on your taxes, and even increase the value of your home. According to Michael S. Regan, Administrator of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, when people invest in green upgrades like energy-efficient windows, they save energy, money, and more.

Awning windows are just like hopper windows except that they open the opposite way. Instead of opening inward, awning windows open outward with a hinge at the top. This creates a mini-awning within your window frame, which is where the name comes from. Hopper windows, on the other hand, open inward with a hinge at the bottom.

Storm windows are placed outside of already-installed windows. Regular windows are installed into a frame, offering a barrier to the elements but no special protection. Storm windows add extra protection to regular windows, reduce noise, and improve insulation. Replacing a regular window involves a different process than installing a storm window.

While some homeowners are under the impression that triple-pane windows can help to reduce sound, the truth is that triple-pane windows will not be much quieter than double-pane windows since having a third pane doesn’t make much difference in sound transmission. If you’re looking to reduce sound, you should consider installing laminated glass windows.
