- American Blinds & Shutters OutletOur overall experience was good with this company. Although the initial person with the company never returned my call, Henry responded immediately to my message. I was very pleased with his presentation and even though his price was slightly more than Home Depots, I hired him. I wish I had asked more questions, or that he had picked up on a specific concern I had. In the end, they were extremely responsive and did the work competently and quickly (although there was one shutter that had been mismeasured and came in a few weeks later). My only problem was that the shutters do not open the way I expected. So, if you hire this company (I think I would again) just make sure you ask ALL the questions and don't assume they know what you're asking for

After the blinds arrived from the factory (There was a slight delay due to COVID) an installer came out and put them up. "My choices were a little limited due to COVID crisis, but contacted 2 highest rated companies on Angie's. First was a small firm who was booked thru the Fall. Alliance has several crews and were able to get to us quickly. First visit was great (David), who provided the quote, alternatives, samples, pictures & addresses of previous work. Price was reasonable. Crew started a couple of weeks later. Very professional and courteous crew of three. Once they show up, they stay to finish the job. Separate gutter crew came shortly after siding was done. Cost was $28,000 for a 2 story cape with shake siding. We love the shake look compared to traditional horizontal siding, esp for a cape house. "I placed an order for 3 tops down bottoms up cordless pleated blackout shades, to replace similar light filtering shades from another company. The shades were reasonably priced, arrived on time and fit correctly. However I'm unimpressed with their overall quality. Three things bother me about the blinds:
1) they are extremely noisy when being raised or lowered
2) they need to be adjusted for level every time they are raised or lowered
3) inside the upper housing, there is a string that appears to move as the blinds are raised or lowered. Since the string rubs against parts in the housing, it is likely it will eventually break.
I don't think I'd buy these again.
