I was very pleased with his presentation and even though his price was slightly more than Home Depots, I hired him. I wish I had asked more questions, or that he had picked up on a specific concern I had. In the end, they were extremely responsive and did the work competently and quickly (although there was one shutter that had been mismeasured and came in a few weeks later). My only problem was that the shutters do not open the way I expected. So, if you hire this company (I think I would again) just make sure you ask ALL the questions and don't assume they know what you're asking for

"We just completed installing a motorized retractable awning from [*** Link removed ***] and are super pleased with the quality of the build, appearance and customer support.? This Italian-designed, engineered and manufactured awning is assembled and shipped from RetractableAwnings.com Florida plant, so if you need assistance with the install, you should contact a local handyman, carpenter or contractor.? Ours is a Palermo Plus, 16 ft. wide, with an 11 ft.-10 in. projection.? The Internet salesperson, Eric Scop, V.P., really worked with us to understand all the options and get fabric swatches.? We ultimately selected a combination Rain/Sun sensor and Vibration sensor to automatically retract the awning in case of heavy rain or excessive wind.? I spoke with Rocky, their installation expert, for advice on preparing the ledger board to attach the awning to our vinyl sided home, right below the soffit.? His advice was instrumental in making the install go so well.? Further, the awning arrived already programmed to the Soliris transmitter and the motor limit switches were also set.? It shipped in a fiberboard box (this one was about 17 ft long and 1 ft x 1 ft square, weighing over 200 lbs.), which was extremely tough.? The truck driver ignored the box orientation stickers and used a hand truck to move it from the center, rather than two hand trucks, one at each end, per the clear placarding on the box.? Despite this, it arrived in great shape, other than a couple minor paint scratches, which we will fix with touchup paint they are sending at no charge.? While the enclosed wall brackets were different from those described in the installation manual (an improved design), installing them was no problem. An extra bracket was included, which we also installed as this will be a large ?sail? on the side of the house and we want it to stay there. "Don is great. He gives you an honest opinion of what needs to be done and how much it can be completed for including break the bank and budget friendly options. He quoted me on doing repair work in my basement needed for a refinance and actually came up with the least costly most efficient way to take care of it. He also quoted me on cost to re-do my mudroom which was damaged when a pipe burst. I mentioned a few other things I needed to get done and he gave me quotes for those items.
