"I highly recommend Certified Chimney of Holtsville. A lightning strike caused damage to my chimney. I needed a new liner as well as a new cement crown and other work done to bring my chimney back up to snuff. The owner, Charles and his two associates (Christian and Christopher) did an outstanding job. They are extremely professional, neat and friendly. They completed the job quickly and the most important thing is that I was given a very decent price. If you need chimney work done, donâ t hesitate to call them."

"Mr. Chimney came to our home to provide a second opinion on the state of our clay liner.  Bottom line, they were professional and informative recommending no new lining was needed at this time.  Additionally, they waived the fee for the inspection.  We will use Mr. Chimney going forward to service our chimney.

"I sent them an email describing the services I needed. Their very prompt response turned down the job because they felt they could not perform what I needed, and said that they were only taking jobs within 25 to 30  minutes from them, due to the increased gas prices."

"We had hired Home Service Experts through an Angie's List deal for a chimney inspection and cleaning. Nick arrived when expected and immediately impressed us with his professionalism and personality. (Note: the office staff is also extremely helpful).  Nick inspected the two flues and gave us the good news/bad news. The good news: the fireplace flue was clean and didn't need cleaning at the moment. The bad news: the furnace flue was disintegrating from a combination of oil and gas fumes.
Nick explained what needed to be done and why. He didn't charge for the inspection, and even gave us a discount on the lining job, because we'd come to him through an Angie's List offer.
He returned a few days later to do the lining job and everything went smoothly.
I hope I don't need their services again anytime soon, but I wouldn't hesitate to re-hire Home Service Experts or to recommend them.

Gas Logs questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can lay a gas grill flat during transportation. Laying it flat can help prevent it from moving around the truck during the journey. It’s still advisable to secure the grill with bungee cords, just in case.

The difference between a built-in and regular grill is installation and design. A built-in grill is integrated into an outdoor kitchen or structure, often within a countertop or island. It is a permanent fixture. A regular grill is standalone, portable, or cart-mounted, allowing mobility and versatility in placement. Built-in grills are typically larger with more cooking space, while regular grills come in various sizes. Built-in grills are favored for creating a custom outdoor cooking area, while regular grills provide convenience and flexibility.

Appliances typically connected to a gas line include gas stoves, water heaters, furnaces, and gas fireplaces. Essentially, any appliance in your home that uses gas needs to be connected to a gas line, which connects your home with the main gas line owned and operated by your gas company.

On average, a gas grill can last from five to 15 years. The exact lifespan depends on several factors, including the brand and quality of the grill, frequency of use, and whether the gas line is buried or above ground. With proper maintenance and care, such as regular deep cleanings to remove food, grease, and carbon deposits, a grill's life can be extended. Protecting the grill from the elements with a cover can also prevent rust and reduce the need for repairs. Most grill manufacturers also offer extended warranties, which vary in coverage and terms.

The cost of a gas grill burner ranges from $10 to $100 or more, depending on the brand. If you’re replacing one burner, consider replacing all the burners simultaneously. Although it will cost more upfront, it will save you the hassle of replacing a burner every few months, and your grill will cook more evenly and efficiently.
