They almost burned down our home and the Danbury Fire Department can confirm this. Unfortunately we were not wise and paid them with cash for a discount and now they deny ever coming to our home. All they did was push down the debris and never cleaned out the chimney nor did they attach the pipe. When we went to use our fireplace the house filled with smoke and had to dial 911. Danbury Fire Department said we were lucky it did not catch on fire. Now we have to clean our home and walls since the house smells like smoke but at least we still have a home. Do NOT use these people!!

From the first phonecall, all was super professional, courteous and easy.  They showed up for the estimate exactly when they said they would.  Called before coming to do the job even though they knew we wouldn't be home, which is helpful. 

Good communication and follow up work was well done.

I got a number of estimates.  Theirs was the most reasonable. They showed up on time and completed the work the same day.  I have had no problems since then.

Fixed the damper at a clients condo (I'm a Realtor). We had been advised by another company that the sheet rock would need to opened and a new damper installed. Cost was estimated at 500.00 (and potentially more) from said chimney company in addition to cut Sheetrock then replace. He saved my client money, time. Truly amazing!! Highly recommend:) super happy.

I initially called for a chimney sweep only. When the technician arrived he informed me that both caps on top of the chimney needed to be replaced. He installed two new caps very quickly. They arrived on time and called ahead of time to let me know they were coming. They were very careful with the dust coming out of the chimney and left the room where they worked very clean. Very good service overall.

I called three Angie's List chimney contractors, all came by to provide an estimate of the "repointing" work that I thought needed to be done. Two of the contractors STOOD ON THE GROUND and provided estimates, one was for $1,500, the other for $5,000. Only D&J went on the roof to look at the chimney and found a major structural issue with the entire top of the chimney cracked both vertically and horizontally. D&J changed $60 for the estimate, which was applied to the work. I contracted with them to rebuild the top 2/3rds of the chimney, clean the flues, replace two fireplace dampers with flue top mounted models, and replace the caps. I was starting a new job and requested the work be done before the start date, prior to signing the agreement with D&J. The work was professionally completed on time and budget. There was an extra charge for additional concrete, but I was consulted ahead of time and approved. They also replaced the damper and pipe from the furnace for free. I believe the work was done well and within the terms of the original agreement. I shudder to think about the mess I would have had with the contractors that didn't bother to go on the roof to check the chimney. D&J was professional and I will use them in the future.

He provided an estimate that was fairly accurate in terms of cost.  The work itself when it occurred went well, with the different steps of the project getting done well once started.  Clean up afterwards of the immediate area was done well.  The end result was solid and looks great.

The time frame was significantly longer than originally anticipated, dragging the length of time into a few weeks.  If you use him, make sure he has all of his materials before beginning the work.

And clearly contract to have everything taken out- he left the old stove for us to dispose of.

Do not use this Company

Very nice, quite professional. Two small problems. They forgot to tell me they turned the oil burner off so I called the oil company and someone came out for service just to flip the switch before they arrived to complete the work on the second day. Also they attempted to clean the stain from soot off the roof with cleaner and I had to wash the windows where it had splashed. Overall, the work was completed as promised and I would recommend and hire them again.

Apointment secured for week after call. Was running late (common for workmen in the area because of large distances between calls), but called to inform of arrival time. Arrived and proformed work promptly, efficiently, professionally.
