"Sammy contacted me almost immediately after I submitted my request. He came out the following day and looked at the areas of the chimney that I had concerns with. He told me what he thought needed to be repaired and what wasn't urgent based on my budget. He offered suggestions and a fair price for everything. The following day he came back and repaired the chimney area in my basement quickly and efficiently. I will definitely be calling Sammy again in the future for some of the other repairs we discussed."

Chimney Repair questions, answered by experts

This depends on the furniture. It’s certainly fine for wood, metal, or composite materials to get wet. The same cannot be said for affiliated cushions and coverings. Many of these adjacent items claim to be water-resistant, but poorly-made accessories take longer to dry, leaving plenty of time for mold to grow. Keep an eye on how your furniture stands up to rain before going in with a pressure washer.

Ongoing maintenance of your leather furniture is the only way to prevent it from peeling and cracking. Real leather will peel and crack as it dries out. Leather conditioners are a great way to protect your leather furniture from drying out, and you’ll need to apply it about twice each year. It’s also a good idea to keep abrasive materials away from your leather to prevent cracking and peeling, including belt buckles, shoes, and multi-surface cleaners, especially those that contain alcohol.

To treat sun-damaged furniture, clean the surface thoroughly to remove dirt and debris. Next, assess the damage: Consider refinishing or applying a protective sealant for faded finishes. Apply furniture oil or conditioner to restore moisture to cracked or dry wood. Remember, the best way to treat your furniture is to prevent damage in the first place. Regular maintenance and preventive measures will keep your furniture looking its best. Lastly, it may be best to consult a professional furniture restorer or refinisher for expert repairs and restoration in severe cases.

Yes, there are several wood filler products on the market that look like wood. Your best bet is to take a cabinet door to your local hardware store to match the appropriate wood filler to your door. Some brands make filler that is masked to look like wood and can also be sanded, cut, stained, and painted.

Discuss design preferences and material choices before work begins for cohesive results.
