"The reason I first hire them is to look at the boiler to reconnect the pipe so I can get it tested. The plumber came and he told me he does not do that work. They lock you in with the deposit and so you use it or loose it. The work that was done was okay. To reconnect two 1.5" drain pipes for $450.00 is a lot of crap. I would not hire anyone that would ask for a deposit, for it is the games that they play. Use it and they still charge you more for the job."

"I had plumbing leaks in a couple of places, but the men that did the work went above and beyond by replacing every component involved top to bottom to ensure there would be no leaks for a long time to come. Very satisfied with the quality of work as well as how quickly it was done."

"I highly recommend. I was "working" with another firm that kept stringing me along and after weeks had not even diagnosed the problem with my 50 year-old system. John called and talked me through everything and within a couple days had dug test pits and gotten sign-off from the health department on the replacement system. A week later it was done. The whole team was professional and friendly. John explained every step and component. He also has a good relationship with the Southington inspectors which helped move the process along quickly. I didn't shop around price but based on what neighbors have spent in the past and the range that the "other guy" was quoting, I believe I got a good value. I recommend John Bensavage without hesitation."

Percolation Tests questions, answered by experts

Because of the danger of inhaling asbestos fibers, figuring out through testing whether your popcorn ceiling contains asbestos is definitely worth it. If the popcorn ceiling texture has asbestos, remove it as soon as possible to keep your family safe. Any home built in or before the 1980s that has popcorn ceilings could have asbestos, necessitating testing. Asbestos carries several health risks for people who inhale it, including the increased chance of developing lung cancer in the future.

Most manufacturers stopped putting asbestos in linoleum before 1980 due to public concerns about its toxicity. However, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) didn’t ban asbestos-containing products until 1989, and a comprehensive ban was not announced until 2024. This means that homes built after 1989 may still have asbestos in their flooring.

The microscopic asbestos fibers do not cause eye irritation, throat irritation, or lung irritation. If you are inhaling fibers, you will not know it. This lack of immediate symptoms is one of the reasons why asbestos is so dangerous. You cannot know for certain if you are inhaling fibers, which is why you must wear safety gear if you could have any chance of an exposure while working.

Vermiculite insulation that comes from a particular mine before 1990 is likely to contain asbestos. This is particularly true in the U.S. However, not all types of vermiculite insulation contain asbestos. Since you can't detect the presence of asbestos without special equipment, it's best to assume that the insulation contains the dangerous mineral and to either leave it alone or hire a professional to handle it.

Hiring a professional for mold and toxic material testing ensures precise identification of harmful substances within a home. Professionals utilize specialized equipment and techniques, providing accurate results that inform proper removal strategies, safeguarding occupant health.
