That couldn’t be farther from the truth. What we ended up using was a fiberglass siding that was far better than the usual “cheap” vinyl siding you see on most homes. It is thicker, has insulation, the clapboards are 7” vs. the double clapboards you usually see. The problem with the double is there is a common seam you see that transcends 2 simulated clapboards. We had a couple quotes from others and they didn’t even bring up the idea of a premium siding. Also, we had some unique things about our job. One was a set of windows that were sunk in. They performed carpentry work that was excellent and quickly solved a roofing and sealing/painting issue for me. Nixon was responsive by phone and showed up when he said he was going to each time.
