That couldn’t be farther from the truth. What we ended up using was a fiberglass siding that was far better than the usual “cheap” vinyl siding you see on most homes. It is thicker, has insulation, the clapboards are 7” vs. the double clapboards you usually see. The problem with the double is there is a common seam you see that transcends 2 simulated clapboards.
