"The technician showed up as scheduled. I thought I was hiring a "local" contractor but he said he had driven 2 hours to arrive to my job site. The work was done satisfactorily for what could be seen as inspecting all the duct work was not practical."

"Beared Bear HVAC I hired David with the Beared Bear HVAC to come out to my home and give me a price for a new AC unit. He was very professional and made me feel comfortable. He came out to my home free of charges went over in detail what options to think over with my family and gave me a very fair and reasonable price compared to other companies. I was very happy with how honest and threow David was , I decided to get a new mini split and David came to the house on time and already had all the parts for the job and got straight to work , he was quick and very efficient he was so Lazer focused I hardly knew he was there working. When the job was complete David went over all of how to use my new unit and if I had any questions to reach out and call. I am more then happy and thank David with Bearded Bear for helping me and my family. We definitely be using this company in the future! For HVAC problems I highly highly recommend this company to any repair or replacement. Five star rating for this home town tech! Truly couldn't be happier!"

"The technician, Steve, called me 25 minutes prior to his arrival. He was extremely knowledgeable about my gas fireplace. He vacuumed all areas. He informed me of the condition of the components. I was prepared to ask him a handful of questions that he was able to answer. My fireplace works very well and I strongly recommend using the Chimney Experts."

Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

Don’t run your AC with a wet filter. It can cause your AC to work too hard, which will run up your utility bill and cause extra wear and tear on the system. You could also spread moisture and mold throughout your house. Turn off the AC, remove the wet filter, and check for cracks or clogs. Fix the problem (with a pro’s help, if you need it), and put a dry filter in place before you turn the system back on.

It depends on the type of AC unit and the extent of the mold growth. For example, if you have a small amount of mold in your central air conditioner, it’s worth cleaning it to protect your HVAC system and your health. In situations like these, you can often remove the mold yourself in a couple of hours. On the other hand, if you have a portable AC unit with a severe mold problem, it makes more sense to buy a new one. On average, replacing a portable AC unit costs $100 to $500.

It is possible to add air conditioning to an older home, but it can be very expensive to do so. Expect to pay anywhere from $6,000 to $17,000 or more for the ductwork and AC unit. You’ll also have to hack into the home’s walls and ceilings to add ductwork, which can impact the aesthetics of an old home.

No, it’s not normal for AC vents to drip condensation. A sweating AC vent is a sign of something wrong and can lead to issues like air duct rust or mold growth. Your HVAC unit might not be working efficiently because of a dirty filter or clogged ducts. Alternatively, your ductwork might not have adequate insulation, which allows the cool air in the ducts to meet the humid air outside, causing condensation.

Yes, you can run an attic fan with the AC on. In fact, you don’t have a choice with a passive attic fan. Plus, when an attic fan draws out hot air from the attic, it helps regulate the temperature of your whole home, so your AC doesn't have to work as hard.
