"Brian was very professional and did a great job on everything he worked on. My front railing was wobbly and he added a bracket so it’s like new. He worked out in the rain to adjust my motion light over the garage because it was only going on when you were in front of the garage door. My front door had a door knob that was ancient and had no key. It was hard to get the old one off and he bought a beautiful brushed brass one to install and the same one for my door in the rec room. They look beautiful!! I would highly recommend Brian Fialkoff from Valerie Spencer Interiors for anyone who needs a handyman!"

"Barn Rescue – My barn was hit by a vehicle, which broke a large post and pushed section of siding out from under the roofline, plus major damage at ground level. Brad shored it up for the winter with an array of jacks and an enormous chain to ensure the thing wouldn’t fall down till they could return in the spring. Come spring, they fully replaced the damaged section’s support members and facade, and added bracing to the attic, rendering it stronger than before. Foundation support: The sagging beams and jerry-rigged support columns in the dirt basement of our 18th century house were inadequate. They dug and poured a dozen footings and lally columns, supporting a line of new 6x6 and 9x9 beams that provide solid support to the house above. They showed up promptly every day, worked fast, and left the site clean and finished. Both Brad and Chad have a deep knowledge about old houses and the techniques that were used, and I felt my historic register property was in good hands."

"I called Oliver Beer of Bauhaus because he had done work for us last fall. He gave me an estimated price that was agreeable. Once he started work he discovered, that like the windows he had installed in our garage last fall, the bathroom needed more work than estimated. Because my husband was going to be released from rehab in a matter of weeks, it was work that needed completion as soon as possible. Oliver worked week-ends and the 4th of July, for a total of 30+ days, removing the old plaster and putting up new wallboard. He got the old tub out and put in a beautiful shower floor; installed a new heating element; ceiling fan/light; a new medicine cabinet, flush and vanity sink. It took him more than 300 hours to give us a showroom quality bath. Incidentally, he painted our living room so that it would be comfortable for my husband to spend most of his time in. This older house challenged him at every project he started, whether it was the plumbing, ceiling lights or lack of outlets in the living room. i will certainly hire him if we need more work done in the done in the future"

"I was so happy with Brian and B&M Builders work and have
used him as my contractor ever since. The projects included replacing the box
framing and sill plates and some floor joists around
three sides of my house. This involved  jacking my house up off the foundation,  detaching
and suspending the 16?X16? enclosed porch and replacing the rotten wood.  This was quite a job. Brian and his crew
worked tirelessly under difficult conditions and went above and beyond.   I
later had them replace my entire roof and on the back porch.  Brian replaced a failing flat roof and installed
a rubber roof and tied it all together. I also had them remove and replace the
siding, exterior trim, gutters and gutter guard and a new window on the 2nd
floor dormer. Brian also removed and rebuilt a large deck on one side of my
house as well. I strongly recommend Brian and his crew in any and all of these
repairs.  They are honest and fair and
easy to work with.  I trusted him and his
crew with full access to my house and family.
You will not be disappointed.

"From first contact, until the final walk-through, Wes, Aimee and their team were the best.
Estimates were accurate, communication was excellent, and attention to detail was consistent from start to finish.
Every effort was made to make the process as painless as possible for us, and the jobsite was cleaned up every night. Our project took several months and these standards were maintained the entire time.
The final result is absolutely beautiful - better than I dreamed of.
AW Carpentry will be coming back to side our house later this year.
Highly recommended.

Pole Barn Builders questions, answered by experts

Building a treehouse can vary in difficulty depending on factors such as design complexity, size, and the builder’s woodworking experience. Basic treehouses with simple designs can be manageable for DIYers with some carpentry skills, while more elaborate structures may pose challenges. Adequate planning, research, and careful execution can make the process more manageable, and resources like premade plans or professional assistance are always available for additional support.

The best lumber for building will be the strongest and most eco-friendly wood your budget allows. That being said, Douglas fir, pine, oak, and maple are all common building materials. Contractors will use a strong, inexpensive wood to frame a house or other structure and finer woods like mahogany for detail work.

Pole barns and carports are similar in that they rely on posts for support and are often not connected to a primary structure. The main difference between the two is that pole barns usually include walls that surround the entire perimeter of the structure, while carports generally remain open on three or four sides. It’s possible to insulate garage doors and even exterior walls on pole barns to create a comfortable workspace, and it’s a bit more secure for storage purposes. However, carports are more affordable.

Generally speaking, building a swing set is cheaper than buying a prefabricated one, but this assumes you have all the tools and knowledge to complete the project. The average cost to build a swing set is $514, but you should also factor in the time and effort it will require—if you don’t want to give up your weekend, it’s worth considering buying instead of building.

Your foundation contractor will first need to remove the topsoil and any vegetation within 4 feet of the area around the barn. They’ll need to ensure they have clear access to the site to begin excavation, after which they can begin construction.
