"I called to get a quote on basement mold remediation. They arrived the same day I called, and 2 workers showed up on time to do a walk thorough of my basement. They did not try to sell me on services I did not need and in fact, gave me tips on how I could do the mold remediation as a DIY project. They were professional and honest ... values you do not see in many contractors these days."

"I had an issue in my son?s bedroom where mold kept forming on the ceiling and started spreading. We reached out to Safe Home Mold Remediation, and they came out the same day for a free inspection and provided a very fair estimate. We had already received three other quotes, and they were by far the most affordable option. On top of that, the quality of their work was excellent. They were professional, efficient, and made sure everything was properly handled. Very happy with the results?highly recommend Safe Home Mold Remediation."

"Celestin came out to my home to check the situation and give me an estimate the same day I contacted Home Advisor. He agreed to come out the very next day to do the job, even though it was a Saturday. He explained clearly exactly what he would do to remediate the asbestos on my pipes. He arrived the next day with a professional contract that we signed. He was able to finish the job in one day and removed all debris. In addition to being professional, he was very personable I highly recommend him to anyone who needs asbestos removed."

"We were very pleased with Mr. Serrano & the USA Asbestos Removal llc. They removed layers of flooring and old linoleum for us on 2 occasions. He explained every detail of the removal/ retesting process and then he & his crew did exactly as explained, from; arriving on time , using all safety precautions, following town & CT regulations for removal & disposal and paying meticulous attention to the final clean up. He gave me copies of the final independent lab test reports within 24 hours."

Biohazard Remediation questions, answered by experts

Mold can begin growing in as little as one to two days after your ceiling has been exposed to water. Mold grows and spreads quickly and can cause serious health problems. Always ensure areas with leaks are fully dried out, and any damaged material is replaced to discourage mold growth.

Yes, mold can grow on virtually any porous material, including plaster, and can be a pain to get rid of. If you see any signs of mold or mildew growth, call a local mold inspection company to take a look—mold is a health hazard and can spread quickly to other parts of your home.

The spread of wood rot results in a physical breakdown of the wood’s cellulose and lignin, causing it to become spongy or brittle. This can lead to structural damage. Water won’t damage the physical structure of the wood, while mold can eat away at the material and cause structural damage over a much longer timeframe. When further considering water damage versus mold versus wood rot, all three issues can create a musty or damp odor in the area. All three can also cause discoloration of the wood.

Mildew and mold are not different—mildew is a specific type of mold and yes, it can become dangerous if left untreated. It would be amazing if we were all biochemists but because we most likely aren’t, it isn’t wise to assume any mold is mildew on sight alone. Harmless mold and toxigenic mold (which can be deadly) look very similar, so if you see any new mold that looks even a little suspect, call a mold professional immediately.

While bathroom mold, commonly known as black mold, does not produce harmful mycotoxins, it can still pose health risks. If disturbed, mold spores can become airborne and potentially cause allergic reactions, respiratory problems, skin irritations, and other health issues. This is especially true for individuals with allergies or sensitivities. While bathroom molds are not as dangerous as other mold species, prompt action is crucial to mitigate health risks and prevent further spread.
