"Nelson from Outstanding Pressure Washing was very easy to work with! He showed up on time and gave me an overview of the job. He was meticulous and made sure everything was cleaned to my liking! Based on past pressure washer contractors that did work at my house Nelson by far surpassed my expectations! His quality of work was exceptional! I will definitely be reaching out to him for any future power washing projects! I highly recommend!"

"These guys were fantastic!! The quoted me a very reasonable price. Lower than the other guys, came out right away and did my roofs and also soft washed my house. I thought I needed my house painted but after Steve and Sean were done I couldn’t believe the transformation of how new and wonderful my house looked. It was as if it was painted. I was blown away about the difference of the before and after look of my house. They worked hard all day and did a fantastic job on my house. Would 100% hire these guys back to do the job again. The transformation from the soft wash was amazing!! Ver professional and easy to work with. Highly recommend these guys, you won’t be disappointed."

"They did an excellent job. Diligent and spent the time required to do the job properly. The soft wash process for our blue stone patio will require some time to see if it keeps the mold from coming back next year and the year after. If it does it is the right way to go as opposed to power washing. It does an excellent job on Azak."

"Pre-treatment (mostly bleach, which leaves a putrid smell for days) left stains on my deck furniture (table, chairs, umbrella, glider, grill cover, and lounge chairs). This could have been avoided if items had been covered properly or removed. The power washing job itself on my deck and rails was satisfactory."

Pressure Washing questions, answered by experts

Costs depend on fabric type, drape size, cleaning method, and whether additional services like pressing or deodorizing are included.

It is generally not recommended to use dish soap in a pressure washer. Dishwashing liquid is formulated for cooler water, and the warmer water used in a pressure washer can create excessive suds, potentially damaging the machine's tubing and other components. Always check the manufacturer’s instructions for recommended detergents. If you find yourself in a pinch, you can try a highly diluted solution, such as one tablespoon of dish soap per 1.5 quarts of water, to avoid clogging the machine.

If you’re using water pressure above 2,000 PSI, you should wear a full face shield—at 4,000 PSI, a water jet can easily slice through skin. Always wear heavy-duty, waterproof gloves and rubber boots with metatarsal guards. If you’re working with hot water, make sure your gloves are insulated.

Yes, you can safely pressure wash vinyl siding. As a durable material, vinyl can typically withstand pressure up to 3,000 PSI, holding up better than other siding types like aluminum or stucco. However, it's crucial to operate the pressure washer correctly to avoid damage. Before you begin, repair any existing cracks or damage to the siding. For a safe setup, use a 15- or 25-degree nozzle and maintain a distance of at least three feet from the siding to prevent splashback and damage.

You should avoid using a pressure washer on any surface or item that could be damaged by the high-pressure spray, as some materials are too delicate to withstand the force.

Key items and surfaces to avoid include:

  • Electrical Components: Never pressure wash electrical systems, as water can cause short-circuits and create a safety hazard. This includes utility meters, breaker boxes, electrical outlets, generators, and HVAC or air conditioner units.

  • Delicate and Fragile Materials: Fragile items can crack, shatter, or be stripped by the pressure. Avoid pressure washing windows, glass, light fixtures, shingled roofs (especially asphalt), and stucco.

  • Painted, Stained, or Sealed Surfaces: Unless your goal is to strip the finish, do not pressure wash painted surfaces, stained wood (like decks), or anything with a protective seal that could be stripped away. Be especially cautious with older surfaces that may contain lead paint.

  • Soft Woods and Certain Decking: Delicate surfaces like softwood, composite decking, and antique or wooden patio furniture can be etched or damaged. If you must wash wood, use a lower-powered pressure washer with a wide-angle nozzle to prevent damage.

  • Living Things: Never use a pressure washer on people, pets, or plants. The force can cause serious injury and will destroy landscaping.
