"I have NEVER written a review before, but I don't want anyone else to go through what I am going through. OT Builders was supposed to complete a bathroom addition for me. They were very friendly, nice, great people... Within a couple days of me reaching out to them, They were very quick to look at my home to see what I was looking to have done and figure out an estimate. They wrote up the contract and came back out within a couple of days. The bath remodel was going to be $8,000. They took the $4,000 deposit (50%) on March 27, 2023.. I asked how soon they can get started, they said in a couple weeks, and then it shouldn't take more than a week or so to complete.. however I had to stay on top of them about the permits and stay on top of them about any updates on when we can start. 3 months later, still no work was started, just a lot of runarounds and excuses why.. I hit some hard times and asked for the deposit back in June 2023 and I no longer was going to do the bathroom. They said okay and will refund the deposit. Days, weeks, months went by, still no deposit refunded. I reached out several times, I kept getting the run around about when they will refund the money. After 3 more months, I let them know They have 10 days to refund the money or I am going to bring them to court... Dec 12, 2023 I filed the court paperwork.... They were ordered by the judge to refund the deposit by July 1, 2024... it's now September 4, 2024 and still no refund.. Still dealing with the court and trying to get my deposit back. DO NOT use OT Builders."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Standard electric water heaters (about 40 gallons) typically need a 30-amp circuit breaker. But if you have a newer model, a tankless water heater, or one that’s more energy efficient, you’ll likely need a higher amperage to power it.

Having the right size circuit breaker for your water heater is an important part of making sure it heats water efficiently and runs safely. A licensed electrician can help you navigate your options, and determine what you need for your new water heater.

Volts and watts aren’t directly convertible units—they measure different aspects of electricity. Volts measure electrical potential, while watts quantify the power. The relationship between the two is defined by the equation: Power (watts)= Voltage (volts) x Current (amperes). In other words, the product of volts and amps results in watts, but there is no fixed conversion of volts into watts.

A voltmeter measures the voltage of AC or DC electrical current. Unlike a multimeter, measuring voltage is a voltmeter’s only function. Voltage is the potential difference between two points within a circuit. Measuring voltage with a voltmeter can help identify wiring issues or determine whether a battery is dead.

It is worth upgrading an electrical panel when you consider potential long-term savings on your energy bill and insurance costs. Older homes with a 100-amp service susceptible to overheating or blown fuses could also benefit from the upgrade. If you're running large appliances frequently (central air, heating) or have items with large electric demands (in-home saunas, hot tubs), you could benefit from installing a 300- or 400- amp service instead

Using too many Christmas lights can cause your circuit board to overload which can put your tree at risk of catching fire and potentially damage your home’s electrical grid.
