"Had very good experience with this locksmith. Came to my house shortly after we spoke on phone and he was able to fix my door lock; a different locksmith had looked at it previously and said it needed to be replaced with a new lock, which, of course, would have cost me a lot more. Thank you, Mamudu, for great service."

"they rekeyed my locks, new digital keypad lock on your frontdoor and glass. They are so nice and I want them to recommend to other customers. The price is fair. They response within the day."

"I contacted several locksmiths to open a locked closet door. Walter was professional on the phone and able to get to my home within the hour. He arrived on time and opened the lock, educating me on the process while doing it. I asked about having a key made for the lock and he explained, due to the brand of lock, that I could take any key of that brand and re-key it myself. This impressed me, as he could have easily charged me more and made a key for the lock, but he was honest and saved me money."

Locksmiths questions, answered by experts

Yes, locksmiths can design and install master key systems that grant different levels of access to various employees while maintaining overall security.

In some cases this is possible, but it’s not advisable as the screwdriver is likely to leave marks all over the wall and a noticeable dent on the door. Move slowly and carefully if you have to use this method, and consider calling an emergency locksmith right away instead of trying to break in.

Yes, many locksmiths offer 24/7 emergency services for business lockouts, broken keys, and security breaches.

If you also have a standard door leading to your garage, install a robust deadbolt lock and reinforce the frame with security plates. Then, secure any windows with shatterproof glass or film to deter break-ins. Consider a smart garage door opener for your car entrance, enabling remote monitoring and control through your smartphone. Motion-activated lighting around the garage to deter intruders is a great way to amplify these security efforts. Lastly, educate your family on security practices, such as keeping the garage entrances closed and locked.

The good news is that, yes, you can change locks yourself. Many people find it’s an easy DIY project that requires few tools and not much expense (depending on which lock you’re installing). If you have trouble with any part of an installation, you can always call a locksmith to help finish installing them.
