Small jobs welcome

"Shay was awesome about her communication and setting expectations. Only because of weather did the project get slightly delayed. We made a change at the end to include some rock for leveling of the ground and it was delivered and installed the very next day - in the rain! Highly recommend!"

"There h was in time and did a great job installing luxury vinyl tiles in two baths and the laundry room. Looks great except there is a gap between the floor and molding. Not sure how to fix that in case we have a water issue all over the floor reaching the edges."

"Performed a remodel in my master bathroom, was worried about all the construction trash making my house a mess but along with the beautiful work, my house was cleaner than when they started the project. Would definitely recommend!"

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

It’s not necessarily normal for tiles to lift, although it’s one of the common issues people may have with their tile flooring. Tiles correctly installed by pros with expansion joints should not lift over time. However, if the installation was done poorly, you might see tiles tenting or lifting as the house settles. This is more common in high-moisture areas with extreme temperatures.

The rule tells you how to cut tile to install it in a corner. The 3/4/5 rule recommends that you should have 3 feet across on one straight line, four feet on the other perpendicular line, and 5 feet of length from the end of one of the lines to the other. You’re making a right triangle with the tile, and the hypotenuse (the line across from where the 3-foot lie and 4-foot line meet) should be 5 feet long.

Terracotta tile is a broad term for clay tile that’s been fired in a kiln, and Saltillo tile is a specific type of terracotta tile produced in Saltillo, Mexico. In addition to Saltillo, terracotta tile comes in a range of other shades and styles. You’ll often find it used in buildings throughout Mexico, southern Europe, and the western United States.

Per the International Code Council, walk-in shower floors should have a minimum slope of 1/4-inch per foot (or a 2% slope) towards the drain. The slope should be no steeper than 1/2-inch per foot (or a 4% slope). This helps safely direct water into the drain rather than all over your bathroom.

Yes, it would be best if you waterproofed your shower walls before tiling. The cement backing board behind the tile is not waterproof; it’s only water-resistant. On top of your tile backing board, be sure to use a waterproof shower membrane before you start installing your shower tiles.
