"Gary, the master plumber who came to our home and gave us an estimate and did the repair work was personable, friendly, professional, and very thorough. He was the main reason we went with Rooter Guy. They were the most expensive of the quotes we received ( we had 4 estimates). The solutions Gary provided were the least intrusive to our plumbing disaster. The work they completed is wonderful and we feel very confident the repair will last for a very long time! The day of the repair job they communicated well and cleaned up everything perfectly. I could not be happier with the work - just wished the job was a little less pricey. We have kept Gary's card and will call again for major plumbing jobs in the future."

"5 stars for this company. After interviewing several plumbers for residential bathroom renovations and water heater replacement I hired Lujan PSI, who a local plumbing supply company recommended. The owner Lucas was prompt and responsive to my needs throughout my project. All work was completed on schedule and was competitively priced. In a place and time where the demand for contractors is extraordinary and it is difficult to find one who cares, Lujan PSI is a standout. This local, family owned company has earned my highest recommendation."

"Kevin gave me a call as soon as my project was submitted for quote. He was able to come out the same day to look over the situation and provide a no-cost quote. Kevin quickly resolved my drain issue for a fair price. Plumbing Pros will be the first company that will call the next time that I have a plumbing problem."

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

Proper freeze protection is the most critical factor for plumbing in Monument. Exterior and underground supply lines must be buried at least 36 inches deep to survive the frost line. You must also account for expansive soils, which place immense stress on underground pipes. Finally, selecting materials compatible with local hard water chemistry and adjusting all combustion appliances for high CO altitudes ensures your system operates safely.

Helpful?

Many homeowners underestimate the strict permit requirements and inspection lead times for plumbing in Monument. Homeowners also overlook the intense labor required to trench 36 inches deep through rocky CO soil for proper frost protection. Always test your specific well or municipal water chemistry before choosing treatment systems, and check your neighborhood guidelines for any restrictions on exterior utility modifications before starting your project.

Helpful?

Completing timely plumbing updates in Monument immediately prevents severe winter pipe bursts through proper insulation and frost-free hose bibs. Installing water softeners quickly improves your water quality by reducing harsh mineral scaling. In the long term, permitted plumbing work significantly boosts your home's resale value and extends the lifespan of your fixtures and appliances by protecting them from the heavy mineral content found in CO groundwater.

Helpful?

Winterizing your plumbing is essential in Monument. Drain your irrigation systems and exterior hose connections before the first hard freeze in October. You must also inspect electric heat tape and adjust crawl space vents to prevent frozen pipes. Because CO water is exceptionally hard, flush your water heater annually to clear sediment, replenish your water softener salt, and descale your showerheads regularly to maintain strong water pressure.

Helpful?

For plumbing projects in Monument, cross-linked polyethylene (PEX) tubing is an excellent choice. Because local groundwater is very hard, copper pipes are vulnerable to pitting and pinhole leaks. PEX strongly resists mineral buildup and handles the severe freeze-thaw cycles of CO winters effectively. Additionally, ensure any gas water heaters are specifically rated and adjusted for high-altitude operation to function safely and pass local inspections.
