"My house was looking rather sorry since it had was painted 15 years ago. Out of three bids, their bid was reasonable. Lucy was responsive answering my many questions and also provided samplers of the chosen colors. The power wash and painting went smoothly and they did an excellent job. I initially expected the painting to take several days and was surprised that finished in 2 days. The prep work and painting looked impressive. I highly recommend their services and will see them again in ten years."

"Enviroshapes did an excellent job, on time and within estimated price. I will hire them again if I have additional concrete work to be done. Also, they were the lowest bidder by about 15 to 20%."

I'm sorry to say that it was disorganized and a real debacle for about 10 days trying to get Ace Roofing to actually come and repair the roof, once I gave them 1/2 of the payment. First, I was told that they would be there at the latest on one day--and no one called to let me know that the day had been changed. I had to call their office to find out that no one was going to show up that day. Then they gave me another day and said that the materials would be delivered---that afternoon for repair the next day. The materials were delivered onto my roof. And no one showed up the following day to do the repair. Then finally it was supposed to be done on a Saturday (about 3 days later), the crew showed up and John showed up and they found that apparently the wrong shingles had been delivered. Then John left and the crew that was there threw all of the wrong shingles off the roof onto my front yard and someone came and picked up the wrong shingles. I then had to wait for 3 more days for the correct shingles to be delivered and the final repair to be completed. I was able to talk to their Office Manager and get them to make a cost accommodation adjustment for all the trouble that I incurred (I had taken my dog to daycare on each of the 3 days on which I thought the repair would happen and rearranged my schedule because I work from my home--and cannot be on a conference call while the roof is being repaired because of the noise). They did make a cost accommodation which I feel was the least that they could do.

Last, I tried multiple times to get a warranty (in writing) for the work on my roof. I called Sheila, their office manager, I called John Wood, the original Ace Roofing sales person who approached me, and I emailed the owner of the company Aaron Clough multiple times. These contacts happened over the course of September to October 2014 (the roof was finally repaired on 8/11/14). I did not receive one call or email in response to my queries to get a written warranty for the work performed on my roof. At this point I do not have a written warranty and I doubt I will ever get one. I was very disappointed in my experience with Ace Roofing. It seems that as soon as I paid them for the work completed--I no longer was worth responding to. Unfortunately, I would say that their customer service is pretty much non-existent and I would not recommend others to this company because I wouldn't want someone else to have to suffer through the problems I experienced.

"The Wright Move is so good that we have used them for 3 moves. All moves have been interstate moves. In two of the moves, we even flew Jermaine and team out to move us. They are that good. Their prices, service and professionalism cannot be beat."

"Excellent! I hired Jason to repair a gate job that had been botched by the previous contractor. Not only did I need it fixed but I was selling the house at the end of the week and needed it done quickly. Jason agreed to take a look at the end of that day, quickly summed up the job and did it that very afternoon! The work was done professionally and the price was very fair. I would use Jason again in a heartbeat and recommend him to the many real estate investors I work with."

"

I found great reviews for Fresh Coat of Northern Colorado on Angie's List.  I called to have an estimate done for repainting the trim on our house.  One of the co-owners came out to bid the project out.  At the time of the bid, a price was given with a contingency that if a third coat of paint was needed then the price might be adjusted up by $800.00 dollars.  My husband and I thought that fair, signed our contract and scheduled the services.  The wait time for the painting services was very short.  Within a week we were scheduled to begin the project.  The painters assigned to our project, Travis and Lonnie Floreth, were great.  Their work is incredible and their sense of pride in their job was excellent.  The job was bid out to us as a two day, two man job.  The job lasted two weeks with some weather delay in there (3 days, I think).  The reason the painting was taking so long was because of the challenging work--our home is textured stucco which makes spraying a non-option.  It took days of prepping with tape and caulk and the use of a brush for all of the edges due to the texture of the stucco.  The painters did an exceptional job on the project.  Fresh Coat of Northern Colorado was not very pleased with the length of time it was taking the painters to complete the project and sent the Client Service Manager out to our home to inspect and determine the cause of the problem.  Well the problem was not the painters at all; it was the problem of the co-owner of Fresh Coat of Northern Colorado who was completely off base with bidding the project out.  He bid it out as a ranch house when in fact it is a story and a half as well as not taking into account the stucco and the difficulty and time it would take to cut in all of the trim work.  The Client Service Manager came out and found that the bid was way under budget and he began assisting in the painting process to speed things up.  He told me that the extra $800.00 was going to be charged because they were doing three coats but I am not certain that three coats were ever applied.  I feel that the extra charge was more to ease their mistake than to give us the third coat of paint.  We, as the homeowners, did not cause any grief to Fresh Coat regarding the length of the project but the representative kept giving me explanations that I did not really need to be privy to.  Their mistakes are their own and I do not think it professional to tell the homeowners what the project should have been bid out at and how much money they were losing.  All we are concerned with is getting the job done and sticking to the bid and contract we signed.  We felt that the company was acting in a completely irresponsible manner.  We will not use this company again but will use the contract painters for the interior painting of our home this winter.  Travis and Lonnie were great!

Sandblasting Services questions, answered by experts

Sand is a common sublayer for hardscape features like driveways, paver patios, and more. Most projects that involve sand require a 1-inch layer to promote evenness, drainage, and weight distribution. For further drainage, most projects have a 6-inch minimum layer of gravel beneath the sand.

Costs depend on paint type, surface condition, labor, and required prep work for repainting.

Sandblasting is useful when you need to strip material off a hard surface. Common reasons to sandblast are to remove paint, rust, or get a surface ready for a new material. You aren’t limited to surfaces like walls either—you can sandblast rusted tools, bicycle frames, cement, bricks, and many others. If what you’re sandblasting is still structurally sound, sandblasting can be a fast and inexpensive way to revive the original material.

If you’re DIYing the project, it could take up to a week if you aren’t able to dedicate full-time hours. If you hire a professional and they arrive with a team, expect your stairs to be sanded in as little as 2 hours (for simple projects). Finishing the stairs takes a while longer as there are drying and sealing times to consider, but the actual work will take much less time than the sanding portion.

Sandblasting is a common method for removing paint. It works great if the underlying material is tough. This is because you can then use more abrasive sandblast materials, making the paint removal process much faster and less expensive. If you plan on removing many layers of paint on smooth surfaces, you’ll need to be more careful about which materials you choose to use to sandblast.
