"M&N Stump Grinding and Small Tree Services is now OUR tree service people. We switched tree services because we were tired of replacing sprinkler heads, turf and cleaning up after theycleaned up. M&N was unbelievably good. It was amazing to have a service with such professionalism along with the quality of work. They did an amazing job of cleaning up afterward. Like I said, they are now our go to for all our trees. So thankful we went with them. Shout out to M&N - your good, very good!"

"D&D Tree Testimonials About us Gallery Contact D&D Tree Tree Service Open today until 7:00 PM GET QUOTE Header image for the site TESTIMONIALS a week ago Hired these fellas to grind down a number of aspen stumps. They were ontime, diligent in their work, cleaned up afterwards and price was reasonable. I recommend them. ? - Rocky i 3 months ago They did an excellent job on our fence! I would highly recommend this company. - Kathy M 12 hours ago Daniel was responsive and accommodating from the first phone call! Once Daniel and his crew arrived with all the equipment they needed to remove 3 large pines, and a dead ash, we knew we chose the right company. Every single gentleman that worked at our house was professional, funny, and so obviously well experienced. Watching the teams work was like watching a symphony, they were all in tune with each other, and anticipated the other guys moves. They were very detail oriented, and worked so hard to protect all the areas that needed to be. They took every scrap away, and left the job site almost better than before they arrived. We are so pleased, and will definitely hire them again! We have more trees, and definitely landscaping that needs to be done! Thanks to ALL of you for an exciting Saturday, and a super job well done! "Hernandez tree service was phenomenal. They were timely, presentable and overall good to work with. They did a removal of a large dead tree. As well as a trim on a smaller tree. The dead tree removal was in between my house and the neighbor's house and there were zero problems. They worked swiftly and accurately. I would highly recommend for any tree services you may need."

"Top-Notch tree service has really lived up to its name every time I've used them. They've trimmed trees for me as well as taking out trees that unfortunately had to go. Their people are extremely skilled at what they do and have taken on Jobe requiring a huge crane to complete. I've literally never been concerned about any aspect of what they advised needing to be done."

"Glenn was great! He completed the work on time and at the agreed price. My tree stumps were surrounded by rock. He took great care to make sure the rocks didn't go flying and cause damage while he was grinding the stumps. He's honest, friendly, professional and insured. I had a great experience with Kingsley Stump Removal and I highly recommend them."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

You can trim just one side of the tree, especially when that side is growing near something like a power line or a home. Pros will carefully trim the tree back until it is safe from that structure. While this is common, it also needs to be done with the utmost care, as pruning or trimming away at one side of the tree may make it structurally unsound. This instance is yet another where hiring a pro is wise, especially if power lines are involved.

Generally, homeowners do not need permission to cut down a tree on their own private property, but there are several exceptions where a permit may be required. You might need a permit if the tree is particularly large, old, or a protected species, such as a heritage tree. Trees located near public property or power lines can also be subject to special rules. Additionally, many local governments and homeowners associations (HOAs) have regulations controlling which trees can be removed to manage an area's appearance or prevent the spread of invasive species. To avoid hefty fines, it is crucial to check with your local government and HOA to determine if a permit is needed before you begin.

Most trees can be successfully transplanted while they are young, but pines, walnuts, and some oak tree varieties are more difficult to move because their root systems grow deeper than most other trees. Also, trees adapted to sandy soil with wide root systems like beeches, willows, and aspens are harder to dig out because their roots spread much farther out from the trunk. In these cases, unless the trees are very young and small, it’s a good idea to consult a tree planting professional.

Generally, if your neighbor’s tree hangs over your yard, you can legally trim overhanging branches. Keep in mind that you cannot cross your property line to cut the trees, and if you damage the tree by trimming it, your neighbor could sue you. Depending on the type of tree and value, this could mean dishing out two to three times the value of the tree.

It’s worth noting that the specifics of this type of tree maintenance and the guidelines around it may vary by location. Do your research and, most importantly, consult with your neighbor.

The best time to transplant a tree is when it is dormant. For many trees, this means either in the fall after the leaves have dropped (around October or November) or in early spring before new growth begins (around March). The ideal timing can depend on the type of tree. Deciduous trees do well when moved in early spring or fall, while evergreens are best transplanted in early spring or late summer. For example, pine trees are best moved in early fall, but maples prefer late fall. Avoid transplanting in winter, as the frozen or hard, cold soil poses a significant risk to the roots and prevents the tree from acclimating properly.
