"Michael was great to work with. He had the proper equipment to get my site prep done right. He coordinated with the county inspectors and was always on site in a timely fashion. I recommend Dotts Constuction and I will use them again on upcoming future phases of my project."

"Very hot day 95 degrees plus, but they stayed until 6:30 p.m. to finish the job. All of the cuttings were cleaned up, and picked up the next morning with a clam bucket truck. The remnants of the trees made a pile 40 feet long, 6 feet tall, and 14 feet wide. Will use again in the future. They weren't the cheapest bid I received, but the best."

"Billy Eddie and Angela made a great team! They were honest, pleasant, knowledgeable, and quoted us a very fair price for removing a large tree that was too close to our house. They cleaned up after the job was done and got it done 2 days after I called them! Would definitely recommend giving them a call."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Costs depend on tree height, trunk diameter, removal complexity, and required equipment.

There are a few instances in which removing a tree is the best option. You might do this if the tree looks to be a major danger—potentially falling onto your home, your car, or other parts of your property—or it’s diseased beyond repair. A tree that is growing too close to your house might need to be removed to prevent mold growth.

The best plan of action for an unhealthy or unsafe tree will depend on its condition. An arborist can recommend whether trimming or removal is the right call for your tree. Preventive tree trimming can keep trees safe and healthy, so make regular tree trimming a part of your yard maintenance plan.

If you aren’t sure what you’re doing, be very careful when cutting mature tree roots (roots larger than 2 inches). Root cutting and pruning can affect both a tree’s stability and its ability to nourish itself. Issues during root cutting can result in damage or injury.

It’s recommended you call in a pro to help, unless it’s a very small tree and you aren’t worried about the prospect of losing the tree.

The amount of time it takes for a tree trunk to rot depends on several factors, including the tree’s size, species, and environmental conditions. It can take anywhere from a few years to several decades for a tree’s trunk to rot. A tree stump, on the other hand, can take up to 10 years to disappear after it’s decayed naturally.
