"My wife and I both agree that Danny is one of the most conscientious and professional contractors we have ever worked with. He never failed to communicate in a timely manner. When laying tile he is truly an artist. He layed tile in our shower and another full wall, matching the patterns perfectly. He also installed new floor tile having to remove the old tile in the process. People walk into our bathroom and can't believe how beautifully it turned out. Hire Danny if you get the chance. You will not be disappointed."

"Jesse, the owner/operator, is very responsive and takes a great deal of pride in his work. He installed about 400 sq feet of maple hardwood flooring and did a site finish. He did such a great job that everybody that sees it says it looks like one big single slab of wood. As a bonus, he gave me advice on laying large plank tiles (I did that work) to avoid common problems with that type of application. When I realized that the flush, wood vents over in-floor space heaters was a design flaw (the heaters needed more ventilation than the wood vents offered), Jesse fixed the problem for free. He does all types of floor applications, not just site-finish hardwood floors. He's very professional in his work, and the one employee of his that I met was very customer-friendly. I recommend Innovation Flooring to everybody in Grand County."

"Very professional and friendly. They definitely know what they are doing and their price was the best of several. We thoroughly enjoyed working with Maria and Lupe and would highly recommend them to anyone wanting to install granite. They did an excellent job and everything turned out beautiful mainly due to their knowledge and leading us through the process. They go out of their way to helpful and it was an enjoyable experience."

"Installed Tile was not listed in the "specific project" list, "installed countertops" was the closest. These guys did a great job on the tile work on my kitchen and bath remodels. The tile looks great and they got it all done in two days. They even threw in the work to do a custom mirror with a tile surround that is truly one of a kind. Affordable and easy to work with, give 'em a call."

Ceramic Tile questions, answered by experts

Yes. You can tile over tile if the old tile is in good shape, but this will also create a thicker floor. As a result, you may have to remove and readjust baseboards and other room trimmings and potentially even raise door heights to work with the higher floors. In most projects, it’s best to remove the old tile before installing a new tile floor.

Thinset mortar is the best adhesive for ceramic tiles on concrete. It is easy to work with and has a slower dry time than mastic or epoxy mortars. This longer dry time gives the installer more time to adjust tiles, which is especially useful for DIYers who may not have tile installation experience. It can also be built up to help level any depressions or gaps in the concrete subfloor.

Porcelain and ceramic tiles are made from clay, but porcelain tiles are fired in a kiln at a higher temperature. This makes them more durable, but it also means porcelain is more expensive than ceramic at $3 to $5 more per square foot.

Even with the higher price point, many people choose porcelain over ceramic because there are more color and design options.

Altering the layout of your bathroom will make a big difference as moving or adding plumbing quickly inflates your total bill. While you can recoup more of your cost (in home value terms) by adding a bathroom, rearranging the layout won’t affect your home’s sticker value. However, strategic placements that allow more light or better flow may increase buyer interest.

Installing kitchen countertop tiles on a mold and moisture-resistant cement backer board is one of the best options. When fitted correctly on top of a plywood base, it’s stable and long-lasting. Old-fashioned cement board is economical, cuts neatly and easily with a circular or jigsaw, and screws into plywood without any difficulty.
