"D&D Tree Testimonials About us Gallery Contact D&D Tree Tree Service Open today until 7:00 PM GET QUOTE Header image for the site TESTIMONIALS a week ago Hired these fellas to grind down a number of aspen stumps. They were ontime, diligent in their work, cleaned up afterwards and price was reasonable. I recommend them. ? - Rocky i 3 months ago They did an excellent job on our fence! I would highly recommend this company. - Kathy M 12 hours ago Daniel was responsive and accommodating from the first phone call! Once Daniel and his crew arrived with all the equipment they needed to remove 3 large pines, and a dead ash, we knew we chose the right company. Every single gentleman that worked at our house was professional, funny, and so obviously well experienced. Watching the teams work was like watching a symphony, they were all in tune with each other, and anticipated the other guys moves. They were very detail oriented, and worked so hard to protect all the areas that needed to be. They took every scrap away, and left the job site almost better than before they arrived. We are so pleased, and will definitely hire them again! We have more trees, and definitely landscaping that needs to be done! Thanks to ALL of you for an exciting Saturday, and a super job well done! "Wow! What a great job! Paul, Anthony and the crew did an excellent job trimming 4 very large trees and several bushes. They were prompt, courteous, very professional and fully cleaned up the brush and trees. We highly recommend A.P. Evacuation and Landscaping and will be hiring them again for more work. Overall, they exceeded our expectations; thank you very much! As an aside, this is a family business and they worked together beautifully. The working relationships were admirable and again, we highly recommend them!"

"James is very knowledgeable about trees and how to properly trim and thin out large trees like I have on my property. He and his partner did a very nice job on my trees! "We had neglected our trees for 7 years and two of them bolted up and were right next to the house. Tim made quick and careful work of the 30ft+ trees by cutting them down and chipping them. The cost was reasonable especially because they cleaned up two other trees on our property and helped clear an entire row of diseased trees. These are the guys I plan to call for any of my tree needs. Highly recommend them."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

The best time to transplant a tree is when it is dormant. For many trees, this means either in the fall after the leaves have dropped (around October or November) or in early spring before new growth begins (around March). The ideal timing can depend on the type of tree. Deciduous trees do well when moved in early spring or fall, while evergreens are best transplanted in early spring or late summer. For example, pine trees are best moved in early fall, but maples prefer late fall. Avoid transplanting in winter, as the frozen or hard, cold soil poses a significant risk to the roots and prevents the tree from acclimating properly.

Whether tree roots will continue to grow after a tree has been cut down depends on the species. Some tree roots will eventually die because they can no longer get nutrients through photosynthesis. However, other species that reproduce through root sprouts can continue to grow and produce new sprouts for seven years or more. For example, the roots of elms, ficus, and willows tend to regrow aggressively, while the roots of pines, oaks, and maples will typically die. To determine if a root system is still active, look for new sprouts on the old trunk, stump, or any exposed roots.

There are a few instances in which removing a tree is the best option. You might do this if the tree looks to be a major danger—potentially falling onto your home, your car, or other parts of your property—or it’s diseased beyond repair. A tree that is growing too close to your house might need to be removed to prevent mold growth.

If executed correctly your tree should survive after being transplanted to a new spot. However, effective transplanting requires six months, careful root pruning, safe transport to the new location, and replanting in prime soil conditions. You’ll also need an appropriately sized root ball for a complete tree transplant. A good rule of thumb is that, for every inch in diameter, your tree’s root ball needs to be around 11 inches. So a tree with a diameter of six inches needs a root ball of approximately 66 inches.

Ensures complete removal and mitigates risks of underground root damage.
