"Devin Dotson, the owner, spent the day at my home installing a new 200 amp electrical panel. I was very impressed with the quality of his work. He did a great job. He was thorough, marked every new fuse and labeled what each one was connected to. Then he tested everything in the house to ensure it was working properly. I couldn't be happier with Current Electric and highly recommend them."

"I selected Epic out of several estimates to install a ChargePoint EV charger. One reason was that they are a small business, which we like to support. Yurii stayed in touch by email right up to the day of the job. He showed up at precisely the time promised and he and his partner Daniel got right to work. Some breakers in the panel had to be changed to accommodate another 240 50 amp and conduit had to be run to where the charger was to be located. They were fast and professional in their work and completed the job in about 2 1/2 hours. Everything works perfectly. And the cost was very reasonable. I am so pleased that I chose them to do the work and recommend them to anyone who is looking for an electrician."

"Sebastian is the best, he came out for a quote, very punctual, professional and asked us alot of questions about what we needed/wanted, he's very knowledgeable so gave us options. He came back with his helper and they installed a new electrical panel & a sub-panel that we requested. Only took one day, great communication, professional, best quote we got at $ 6000.00 Would definitely recommend."

"I will call them again for all electrical work I need. Although I was not charged for the initial visit, the electrician spent considerable time bird-dogging a potential problem."

"We are so pleased with the installation of the panel and the with the fact that Ron pointed out the other issues we had and corrected those things too. Both Ron and Billy were professional and personable. We are happy with all of the work that they did, the explanation of what we needed and why, the clean up and how conscientious they were with our dogs. We will call MighyBee for all of our electrical needs in the future and will definatly recommend them to our friends."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

The most common type of electrical outlet is a 3-prong outlet, which has two flat blades (one is wider than the other) and a round grounding pin. Older homes typically have 2-prong outlets that aren’t as safe as more modern options and are generally not up to current electrical codes.  Other outlets you can find in your home include 20A, 125 volt varieties for larger appliances like refrigerators or washing machines.

There are also GFCI outlets, which protect against electrical shock in wet areas, such as bathrooms and kitchens, and arc fault circuit interrupter (AFCI) outlets, which protect against electrical fires caused by arcing.

The safest option is to let a technician conduct the inspection. However, if you are certain that the capacitor failed and you take all precautions to avoid electric shock, you can take a look yourself. Usually, you can open the front panel of the unit and use a flashlight to find the small capacitor cylinder. It should have a sticker on it that provides its product number, capacity, and similar information that you can note when talking to a contractor.

There are several things to try to repair a broken outlet. Whether it's fixable or not may depend on the problem and the type of outlet itself. Start by testing the circuit with an electrical tester and ensuring the breaker switch to the circuit functions as it should. Loose wires are sometimes the culprit and are repairable by fixing the connections.

Hiring a professional for attic fan installation or replacement is highly recommended to ensure safety, proper ventilation, and effectiveness without damaging your roof. The type of professional needed can vary based on the fan type and project specifics.

  • HVAC Technicians: They understand airflow and ventilation principles, making them well-suited for the job.

  • Roofers: Experienced roofers are ideal for roof-mounted fans, as they can ensure a watertight installation.

  • Electricians: A licensed electrician is essential if new wiring is needed, or for replacing solar or electric attic fans to safely handle the electrical connections.

  • Carpenters: They may be needed to install gable vent fans or to ensure a new fan fits the existing structure correctly.

  • Handyperson: For a simple replacement of an old fan with no wiring or structural modifications, a handyperson might be an option.

A bigger breaker alone probably won’t fix your problem of frequent tripping. But if you upgrade an electrical circuit to a higher amp rating, or upgrade your breaker box to handle more amps, it could solve your tripping problems. Consult a qualified electrician about the best course of action.
