"Wow! If you are looking for a beautiful countertop Jesse (the countertop guy) is your man! After the initial call he was able to come to Colorado Springs and give us a quote 5 days later. I thought the quote might be high so I ran to Lowes to get a quote from them, same product, rip out of tile counter, and sink. Nope. Lowes was CONSIDERABLY higher! I called Jesse back immediately and he came back out and made a template. 10 days later he was back and installing! (Lowes was scheduling 4 weeks out) Jesse is professional, approachable, and easy to work with. I would absolutely recommend him to friends or family."

"This was the most straight foreword, honest, experience I had with a contractor. Pedro and his team quoted accurately and installed a beautiful granite kitchen countertop. He worked with my short timeline."

Small jobs welcome

"Although we only had 19 ceramic tile that needed to be replaced in our kitchen, Adam drove over from Greeley to review our situation and gave us an estimate right away. Some of the cracked tile was originally lain beneath our custom cabinets... and we had been told by others that replacing those pieces might entail removing the cabinet's 'toe kick'... and possibly/probably damaging them in the process. However, Adam PRECISELY cut the old tile away from the toe'kicks and PRECISELY cut the new tile to EXACTLY FIT where the old tile had been. He showed up PROMPTLY on each morning of our 2-day project. He CLEANED UP our job area each day before he left. He was PROFESSIONAL, PERSONABLE... and REASONABLY PRICED. We would definitely !(and WILL) hire him again"

"Tony is absolutely amazing! We hired I&E to add a peninsula countertop to our kitchen. Matching our existing countertop was challenging as it was discontinued, but Tony went above and beyond to source a quartz that matched as closely as possible. His customer service is top notch - he is an amazing communicator, is super patient and kind, and always let me know where we were in the process. His team did beautiful and efficient work. Pricing is competitive. I am so happy with the final product and would recommend Tony to anyone!"

"Excellent communication from beginning to post installation made them super easy to work with Installers were on time, did a great job, were patient and helpful when we needed to make a last minute change in design. On top of all that they actually cleaned up before they left rather than leaving a mess like so many contractors do. They do a lot more than quartz countertop installation, and I would definitely go back to them for any future projects."

Stone Countertops questions, answered by experts

Marble is a porous natural stone that needs sealant to minimize staining. Leaving this type of countertop material sealant-free means any liquids left on the surface will quickly absorb into the stone, discoloring it and dulling the sheen. Dark or acidic liquids, like red wine, coffee, and lemon, are the worst culprits.

Epoxy is typically more affordable than granite, especially if you’re choosing a high-end slab. Most granite countertops cost $75 to $145 per square foot to install, with high-end varieties topping $185 per square foot.

In contrast, epoxy countertops cost $50 to $150 per square foot to install. The material costs for epoxy are significantly lower than granite, but installation costs can be higher. Rather than simply cutting granite countertops to size before installation, your contractor will need to carefully pour the epoxy over an existing surface.

The best tool for cutting countertops depends on the type of countertop material. For some softer materials, like laminate (Formica) and butcher block, you can use a hand saw, but most experts recommend power saws like circular saws, since these make the job go faster and easier and give more even results. However, power saws and circular saws are dangerous if used incorrectly, and they can be so powerful that they damage or chip laminate, stone, and other types of countertops. For this reason, you should take safety precautions and use best practices to prevent damage.

One of the primary benefits of a soapstone countertop is that the material is heat-resistant. You can put a hot pan on soapstone, and it won’t scorch or crack. Despite being able to handle extreme heat, soapstone is much softer than granite, quartz and similar materials. This means that it scratches easily, so you should not prepare food directly on the surface.

The least porous countertop material is engineered quartz. Made from a blend of natural quartz and resins, it is non-porous and highly resistant to stains, scratches, and bacteria. This makes quartz countertops exceptionally low-maintenance and durable, ideal for kitchens and bathrooms where hygiene and easy upkeep are priorities. Other non-porous options include solid surface materials like Corian, which also offer excellent resistance to moisture and stains.
