"Scheduling an appointment for my home energy audit was easy. They had plenty of available times within the next week so that was great. They arrived on time and got right to work. I would hire them again."

"Went to take a shower this morning but no hot water. Pilot light was out and I couldn't get it to stay lit. Called several other companies and none of them could come out for at least several days. Was able to schedule service with Time Plumbing within a couple of hours, and when Chad came out he agreed it was the thermocouple that had gone bad. Had it replaced and tested within the hour. Was also very helpful with a variety of questions I had. I'd hire them again! Now, on to that hot shower!"

"Cannot say enough about the Bestway team and the outstanding job they did for us. Debbie and the Bestway team advised us to complete a home energy audit. In doing so, we learned how poorly our home was insulated. We let the Bestway team come in and go to work. They were meticulous in every area they addressed. As the Bestway team completed the work at our house, we were pleased with the care and thoroughness of the work. Dave led the work team and was a joy to have at our home across the 4 days. He always kept us updated, told us when there were challenges, and went out of his way to correct issues that were problems because of the way our home was built. Debbie was excellent at identifying areas where we could take advantage of Xcel rebates. When the job was wrapped up, the Bestway folks left our home in great shape -- and cleaned our garage! Hats off!"

Energy Efficiency Auditing questions, answered by experts

If you want a new boiler that’s going to help lower your fuel bills, you should buy one that has a high energy-efficiency rating. For example, a boiler that is rated “A” uses at least 90% of the energy created by the boiler. And in order to enjoy the best performance, it’s important to have it installed properly by a highly-rated tech.

Energy-efficient windows cost more than other window types, but they can help you save on your monthly energy bills, get you some breaks on your taxes, and even increase the value of your home. According to Michael S. Regan, Administrator of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, when people invest in green upgrades like energy-efficient windows, they save energy, money, and more.

After you receive your audit and report, review the findings and determine which of the prescribed changes you want to make to improve your home’s energy efficiency. Start by contacting the type of professionals recommended by the auditor who can help you remedy the issues discovered during the audit. Prioritize the projects by urgency, importance, and budget. Then, gather estimates from several professionals, remembering to verify any necessary licensing and experience information.

Common warning signs of an overloaded electrical panel or meter box include frequent circuit breaker tripping, flickering or dimming lights, scorch or burn marks, and a burning scent coming from the panel. A circuit breaker trips as a protective measure to prevent overheating and potential fires. If you observe any of these signs, turn off the affected circuit breaker and move some devices to a different circuit. If the problem persists after turning the breaker back on, you should contact a professional electrician to resolve the issue.

The difference between an energy auditor and a home inspector is primarily in the purpose of the inspection. The energy auditor conducts tests in your home to determine the energy efficiency levels in areas like windows, insulation, and doorways. The auditor then makes recommendations for ways to improve a home’s energy efficiency

A home inspector examines various structures of your home to determine that everything is up to code and gauge the condition of features like the roof, foundation, HVAC, and electrical. The home inspector reports on the overall home and makes repair recommendations.
