"Prior to hiring Topshelf to install a wholehouse steam humidifier I spoke with several companies. Darrell responded quickly, was knowledgeable and willing to explain and answer all my questions and concerns. His team arrived on time, introduced themselves, followed Covid safety measures, put shoe coverings on everytime they entered my house. When the installation was completed, they made sure I knew how to operate the system. No trace of them was left behind only a house that now is humidified and overall much warmer with a lower temperature setting. I would highly recommend this company!"

"These people were terrific! Tracy in the office was super helpful in answering my initial questions and getting me on the schedule. The technicians - Don and Billy - were not only on time but just a few minutes early, friendly, great about answering my questions and explaining what they would be doing. They were in and out in under 2 hours and I have a ceiling fan in my bedroom that I love! I would definitely hire Mighty Bee again."

"Spoke with Vy, he was able to give me a quote over the phone. They showed up the next day and installed 3 bathroom light fixtures. My chandelier and ceiling fans were back ordered and not available for them to install. They will be back to complete the installation at a later date. Very satisfied with the company and workers."

"We had great service from Carlos Chavarria of Mr. Sparky. He was prompt, efficient, and a pleasure to work with. He tackled our old inverter system with ease, replacing a cooling fan deep within its innards, which necessitated disconnecting and disassembling a bunch of complex wiring and components (circuit breakers, charge controllers, monitor wiring and battery farm all involved) to get to the fan. He reconnected everything with no problems whatsoever, and everything is working wonderfully, good as new! I am very pleased with his service - Mister Sparky will be my first choice for electrical services from now on!"

Ceiling Fans questions, answered by experts

To convert a ceiling fan to wireless, you’ll need to install a canopy module to access the lighting and fan controls. Many options are available, all of which help you control specific elements of your ceiling fan, so you have plenty of choices depending on your needs.

If you’re removing a ceiling fan without visible screws, start by locating the fan canopy—a round cover placed above the fan blades and motor. There should be a thin ring that can be turned counterclockwise to remove the canopy and reveal the screws. After unscrewing the fan, you can disconnect the wires and remove the entire fan from the mounting hardware. For safety, make sure the fan switch is turned off before you remove the canopy. It may be easier to remove the fan blades first, too.

The more surface area that a ceiling fan blade has, the more effective it will be at producing airflow. Therefore, a longer ceiling fan blade is the better option if you’re looking for more wind. However, a longer blade will consume more energy than a shorter blade.

Yes, ceiling fans come with a few other features that help with function, style, and convenience. Multi-speed fans can give you specialized control over the airflow. Consider getting one with an integrated light to save ceiling space. Some ceiling fans come with a remote control that enables you to change direction without climbing a ladder. Of course, you can also consider installing a wall switch to enjoy that convenience.

A typical fan installation takes between two and six hours. The exact timeframe can be influenced by factors such as the home's structure, existing electrical characteristics, ease of attic access, and whether complex wiring or additional attic ventilation work is required.
