"We hired Master MCG Remodeling to build a carport. Living in the mountains we had to consider snow, high winds, rain and needed something solid. We are more than pleased with the results. Dylan was ontime everyday and worked till almost dusk. Everything was explain about the process and updates given along the way. Dylan is professional yet extremely personable. We are so happy to with the results, we've asked for a quote to remodel our laundry and create an entrance door from the new carport. We could not have asked for a better experience. Highly recommended."
"Trio installed a Trex deck for us. They showed up on time, did an exceptional job, and kept us informed every step of the way. Would not hesitate to use them again."
"Alfred was wonderful! He repaired the sliding doors in my bedroom closet that 2 other handymen were not able to do. He also hauled a heavy piece of furniture downstairs for me and removed and replaced rubber step mats on my 5 garage stairs. Noted that I had bought the wrong materials for adhesive:) He knew what was best. Don't waste your time or money, hire Cranston to do the job efficiently, I'm so thankful I did! Thank you Cranston and Alfred!"
"This Prio was very professional!
Did a very neat job! Had everything cleaned up after job was finished! Washed the storm windows outside and inside after the power washing created moisture between the storm window and regular window!
I will hire him back to paint the inside of my garage when I’m ready for that project!
I’m ready for that project!"
"I signed the contract for the garage in April 2014. It took until September to complete the relatively simple construction. The contractors that were hired for the work (the owners only installed the garage doors) did a good job on each element when they were there. The price was reasonable and didn't change. We got a 24x24 two car garage. The problem was with the placement of the garage initially. The owner who provided the estimate did not understand the issues associated with where we wanted the garage and we had to move locations twice. Then it seemed as if work only got performed when I called and pushed for it. Even then, work was often not performed when requested. Bottom line is the work itself was done well, within cost, and the finished product is good. The management of the job was erratic at best and took months longer than necessary. I would recommend any of the performers, but would not buy from Affordable Garages again."
"Superior Remodeling was easy to communicate with and worked with us to stay in budget since we were working on insurance money. The work was done quickly and quality work. The walls that needed repairs look fantastic, can't even tell where the texturing is and the carpet was installed so nicely I feel like my basement never flooded and I can go back to normal. Highly recommend their services!"
"Colorado Paradise Builders were responsive when we asked for a proposal to finish our basement. They created a thorough proposal with a price, timeline and specific details on the project. They followed through on everything in a timely manner. Everything cost what it was supposed to cost; their tradesmen were courteous and clean, and they completed the project on time. I would not hesitate to recommend them to a friend or use them again for another home project."
"I would give them 10 stars if I could! We had another company come out when our AC wasnâ t working and tell us that we needed a new AC unit, and will need another new AC and furnace in the next couple of years - among other things. We connected with True Blue through Angiâ s list - they reached out right away and Jimmie came out the next day. He checked everything out and determined we only needed a new blower motor and they cleaned the furnace for us. They were fantastic to work with! They were thorough, knew what they were doing, didnâ t try to upsell us and let us know that they believe in doing business the right way by taking care of customers - not taking advantage of them. Hats off to Jimmie and team!!"
For a garage to be included in a home's official square footage, it must qualify as livable space. This generally means it needs to be attached to the home and have permanent finishings like proper insulation, finished walls and ceilings, and adequate ventilation. To be considered livable year-round, it should also have heating and cooling. The specific legal requirements can vary by location, but if a garage is converted into a finished room meeting these criteria, it may be counted toward the total square footage.
Single and double garage doors have pros and cons, but it's all based on personal preference regarding which one is better for you. Two single garage doors give you more control over airflow entering your garage but double the system, which means double the upkeep cost.
On the other hand, two-car double garage doors are more convenient but can stop you from leaving if a piece of hardware malfunctions.
Always lock the door that separates your garage and your home. However, garage doors are seldom entrance points for thieves. It takes quite a bit of work and noise to pry open a garage door, so thieves often opt for windows or unlocked doors. Unless they have access to the motor which controls the door, as long as it's functioning properly you shouldn't worry too much about it.
Garage cabinets are different from interior cabinets because they typically hold heavier tools and face more extreme temperature changes since they’re outside your heating and cooling system. For that reason, many homeowners opt for heavy-duty cabinet materials, like metal or steel. However, wood cabinets also work well in a garage for storing lighter items like garden supplies, protective gear, and small tools.
While it’s possible to replace your own garage door, it’s a dangerous DIY job, and the work is best left to professionals. Garage doors can weigh hundreds of pounds and are quite bulky, so maneuvering them into place for installation is a tough job. Additionally, working with high-tension garage door springs is dangerous, especially if you install them incorrectly. The labor for garage door replacement costs around $400 on average, which is a small price to pay to guarantee your safety and the security of your home.
