"First, Silk City Electric wasn't the first electrician I hired but a previous electricians helper dropped the ball on showing up on time and he technically had three days (yes, during the Memorial Day weekend) to install 3 4-plug outlets for my network server room and still did not come out on Memorial Day morning like he offered. I couldn't even get him to answer the phone when I called earlier. With all this said Marty from Silk City Electric, LLC happened called me back to see if he could still come out and give me an estimate as promised earlier in the week. So since the previous electrician did not show in the time frame he told me, Marty was my guy! Marty offered to do the work on Memorial Day morning at the price the other electrician (helper) gave. Marty was very professional but very friendly with a great deal of personality. I like professionalism for sure but you will win me over with a great personality and disposition, let alone good work. He performed the work in the time frame he gave me (I think early) and even doubled checked his work before leaving to make sure I was happy with the end result. I will be calling Silk City Electric, LLC for ALL my electrical needs. Fan installation and burned out outlet next! Also should mention Marty has been in the business for over 25 years and given he just started his new company in January 2015, as a small business owner myself, I was happy to give him a shot and he met my expectations."

"They found a problem with the humidistat that was preventing the duct fan from turning on. All I was charged for was the $29 visit fee. The previous contractor that came out said we had a bad fan motor and humidistat (which they kept calling a thermostat - red flag) and quoted us $1500."

"We had great service from Carlos Chavarria of Mr. Sparky. He was prompt, efficient, and a pleasure to work with. He tackled our old inverter system with ease, replacing a cooling fan deep within its innards, which necessitated disconnecting and disassembling a bunch of complex wiring and components (circuit breakers, charge controllers, monitor wiring and battery farm all involved) to get to the fan. He reconnected everything with no problems whatsoever, and everything is working wonderfully, good as new! "My appointment time was between 8am and 10 am. The installer (Enrique) arrived at 8:03 am . I had already decided where I wanted the fan to be installed. Enrique looked over the job and said that the location was fine. We talked for about 10 minutes about how the fan would be most effective. Enrique gave me his advice (he has been doing these installations for years). I declined his suggestion for additional vents, since I had a "full ridge vent" installed with my new roof last year. There was no pressure from Enrique, and he assured me that I can have additional vents installed later if need be. When the installation was complete, Enrique demonstrated how the fan works, the distance that the house windows should be opened and other helpful information. It is unbelievable how much air is moved thru the house with this appliance. It is going to be great! Enrique told me that the fan would be noisier in the hallway where I wanted the fan installed...the sound echos in that type of space. Indeed while standing in the hallway, it seems noisy, but in the very next room, the volume was not enough to interfere with watching TV. There is very little noise when the fan is switched to low. Enrique was prompt, professional, courteous, pleasant and well groomed. He respected that I was the customer. He covered the area he was working in and cleaned up when done. He worked quietly...as much as one can when using tools. He is efficient at his job. The whole job was done from knock on the door to driving down the driveway in about 3.5 hours. It is April, and I am sure when Denver gets its streak of 90 degree weather this fan will give the results I want. By the way....Enrique arrived in a fairly new, clean, well organized, well stocked van. This service was top-notch!!! In addition, Seymour, apparently the owner of this shop, interacted with me per email several times last summer, as I was trying to coordinate the fan installation with the new roof project. He spent considerable time giving me information. When I emailed 2 weeks ago I got exactly the appointment time I wanted. Great service all around."
