"offense that I spent a ton of money on with huge gaps between the fence and the ground. Offense that I had to spend another $500 on so it would keep my dogs in and two days of my labor to fix it. Offense with loose post the day they left people from the company even wiggled the post and said they may have to come back and fix it. Why wouldn't that be fixed to start with. my fence that I spent a ton of money on looks like crap, looks jerry-rigged. I stress to everyone that came to my house that this fence was for my dogs. I was told later I had a choice between the top rail looking good and flat or gaps between the fence. Apparently they did not understand the thousand times that I told them the most important thing about this fence was my dogs. If I wanted a pretty fence I would not had them put up a chain link fence."

If the job site distance exceeds 10 miles from the office there will be a $30 trip charge, which is due upon arrival. If hired for the project, the trip charge will be discounted on the invoice.

He completed all projects very well and is clearly a skilled handyman. The bed frame in particular was a lot of work, and he did an excellent job. "Shawn was at my home to install two doors. Everything went fine so I asked for a bid on replacing the underneath of my patio cover from vinyl to osb soffit material. He showed up late both days, raised the bid $375 right after he arrived, telling me he measured wrong. (First clue, measured wrong? Is that my fault) He then added for painting which we had already discussed. He demoed the vinyl, leaving a strip around the edge. I asked what he was doing and he said he was putting the board in the vinyl strip. Would you not ask the homeowner first. If I’m eliminating vinyl, would I want the board placed in the old vinyl strip? I have two small dogs. I asked them to keep the nails picked up and MAKE SURE TO LATCH THE GATE! Thank God I shut the doggie door!! I went outside and they were nailing away and the gate was wide open. He ran out of spackle, used some I had and got mad when I told him I could not leave to go get some. I had another guy in the house bidding a project. I asked him why he wasn’t prepared with supplies. He loaded up his stuff and said “I can’t work for you!” He left my job unfinished. I paid him. Thank God my dogs didn’t get out!! I read a review about his stone work. Perhaps he should stick to that!"

Ideally, your gate would swing both in and out. However, if it can only open in one direction, it's generally best for the gate to swing inward. There are exceptions, however. For example, if your property is on a slope, your gate may not be able to swing in.

Keep in mind that there may be local building codes that require your gate to swing inward.

A Trex gate costs $750 plus another $200 for the hardware pack necessary for installation. By contrast, Trex fencing ranges in price from $22 to $38 per linear foot, so you may pay a lot or a little depending on just how much space you need to enclose in your yard. 

Your dog might be able to slip underneath chewable, flexible fabric gate covers. When you have a wayward woofer, using wooden panels that come within an inch or two of the ground is the most secure option. You may need a metal defense barrier dug into the soil to keep your dog from digging under your fence or gate.

It might be possible to install your own manual driveway gate rather than an automatic one, but we don’t recommend it. Driveway gates are large, heavy, and bulky, and getting them to your house and maneuvering them for installation can be dangerous. It’s also challenging to install the gate and balance it perfectly so that it functions as expected, and wiring any automation mechanisms for your gate is also dangerous and requires help from an electrician. We recommend leaving the work to a professional driveway gate installer.
