He arrived on time and ready to go in the early morning and finished up about 4 pm for 2.5 days. He did a great job makinf my home and pool area look clean and manicured. Just be sure to go over how much you want taken off the bottom of your trees. He took off the bottom branches of a huge Blue Spruce and when he was finished I could walk under it. All in all he did an excellent job.
I would highly recommend him his price was reasonable for all the trimming he needed to do and I gave him $400.00 extra just be sure he knows exactly what you want done and I hired him to mow the area around my house every 2 weeks
They removed rose bushes from an existing flower bed, removed sod, installed landscaping fabric over the entire surface, installed curbing around a tree and the border parallel to the street, replaced sod with three different colors of rock, as well as larger boulder accents. The results are stunning!
We spoke with two other landscaping companies before choosing Roberto for this job and the third try was a charm! The property is a rental that is often neglected by tenants. Roberto understood what we were looking for in terms of design and cost and worked with us to come up with the perfect landscape.
deplorable. The original owners had constructed a deck around an above ground pool. Part of the deck was in OK condition but a walkway down one side was falling apart. In addition, river rock used to improve the front yard was probably delivered and placed in the pool area which was no longer in use and had a plastic liner mesh left in place under the gravel. In addition, a pile of mud and lava rock was deposited on top of the gravel that had been removed from gardens in the front yard. A commercial storage
building in the rear had an add-on structure that the owner had built for his golf cart. Because it had a flat roof, leaking from snow accumulation had ruined the floor and ceiling of the add on structure. We had been putting off doing something about the back yard for 3 years.
We called one of the highly rated companies on Angie's list and they responded within 2 days to evaluate the job. We wanted the gravel and mud removed and a rock garden put in its place. The rotten part of the deck removed and the entire add on structure to the shed removed. I wanted rock put in place where the shed add on was located. I also wanted rock placed along the entire length of the back of the house to form a 3 foot walkway. In addition, we needed a 38 ft. section of fence replaced and a gate installed by the walkway. After getting the details the owner told me that he was very busy but would get me a quote after he returned from a trip the following week. I let a month go by and had no response so I called and he again indicated that he was very busy and contemplating hiring additional help but assured me he would E-Mail me a quote soon. I received it about two days
later for $3850.
Since we didn't see any other landscape contractors we liked, my wife decided to try the Yellow Pages. She found a company Grand Valley Landscape Services and gave them a call. The owner Roberto Gomez came out the next day. I discussed what I was planning and he had some VERY helpful suggestions. One of the best ones was to go with concrete flatwork for the walkway which he said he could do as inexpensively as gravel. I also wanted to pour a pad for my garbage cans in the front of the house since we were doing concrete. He approached the mud and lava rock differently and leveled and contoured it to make an attractive garden. At first I was going to forgo planting anything this season but he insisted that he wanted the job to look good and agreed to plant several xeriscape plants and run a drip line from the existing sprinkler system at no extra cost. He also suggested planting grass where the shed add on was removed and agreed to also plant grass on a 10 x 10 section where we had removed a tree and ground the stump earlier. He edged the garden with metal edging and removed the electrical from the add-on shed. He replaced the 38 ft. section of fencing with cedar 5 inch and cedar posts after removing the old fence and disassembling an iron gate frame. He built a new gate over the walkway.
The completed job has made an incredible improvement to the look of our back yard. We can walk the length of the yard without having to dodge the dog's piles on the new walkway. Our garbage cans are easily rolled into place on the side of the house.
The plants are doing nicely. The fence looks great and I'm going to have it stained to match the house color. The grass has grown in nicely. Roberto's bid for the entire job including materials was $3000 and he stuck to it in spite of continuous changes that we made along the way. He asked for NO money up front even when they got started and there were some labor and
materials costs. I insisted on giving him half when the concrete was delivered and we paid the other half on completion. The walkway was appropriately sloped away from the foundation and tied in with re-bar drilled into the chain wall. He is a true
landscape professional and his prices could not be better. He was able to provide us with references before we started the job and they spoke very highly of his company. I was surprised to find that he is not on Angie's List but I am very pleased to add his company and offer my highest recommendation for his work.
