I appreciated his knowledge about tile roofs and he wasn?t afraid to share his knowledge. He provided a very detailed and professional estimate. The work to be done was quite the laundry list. But basically he was installing aluminum nosing, new felt and weather seal materials all around the drain edges of the tile roof, repairing dry rot in several spots to the OSB and fascia boards due to improper installation of the original gutters and tiles. I had hired a general contractor to replace rafter and fascia boards on the back of the house. But once they removed the rafter tiles they did not know how to put them back properly. They fixed this and sealed all the gables and ridges, used epoxy on the slipping field tiles and replaced all broken tiles. All this work was done in one day by a 5 man crew and foreman.
The house was also scheduled to be painted prior to the roof work. Brain was genuinely concerned about the gutter color matching the new trim paint. So much so he sent the gutter contractor by the house with a sample to make sure we would be happy with the color. When the roof work was done the gutter guy Victor began to install all new gutters on the entire house. During this process I found a small spot of dry rot in the OSB, rafter tail and Fascia board on the back side of the house. Brian send a 2 man crew out to repair this spot and finish up the rest of the project.
Victor completed the gutter installation the next week, it took about 2 1/2 to 3 days total for the gutters to be installed. And they turned out great and the color matched nicely with the new trim color of the house. We were very pleased with the new gutters and downspouts.
The Roof Guys warranted the work they did for 2 years. I marked them down in price, just because I did think the project was expensive, not because I didn?t think I got what I paid for.
I did have to wait about 2 weeks for the final paid in full receipt after the project was complete and paid for. But Brian kept his promise and emailed a lien release and final receipt after I bugged him about it.
I am pretty picky about cleanliness and I thought his crew could have done a better job of cleaning up. But overall we were pleased with the service the Roof Guys provided and we will be calling them again for any future repairs or roof replacement. Hopefully that will not be for a long while. It went well and quick. There was some minor damage and they documented and repaired that damage the following week. They even removed the old roof unit and hired a sub to patch the roof.

While the terms deck and porch are often used interchangeably, they are two distinct home features. Porches offer a roof that protects from the elements when coming and going from the house. Generally, porches are on the front of your home. On the other hand, decks are generally built in the backyard of a home and offer no roof or protection from the elements, like rain or snow. Porches typically require less maintenance and upkeep thanks to the roof, but both features require regular cleaning and repairs to maintain good condition.
There are a few ways to make your deck look new without professional power washing. First, you can use either store-bought cleaners or dish soap and water to mop your deck regularly to clean off accumulated dirt. To clean your deck and remove mold, mix two gallons of warm water with a ½ cup of distilled white vinegar or apple cider vinegar, rinse the area, and then scrub with a stiff-bristled broom.
For an average deck of about 300 square feet, you can expect to pay around $100. However, if you have a spacious 1,000-square-foot deck or more, expect that cost to be closer to $300 to $400. Likewise, if it’s been a long time since you deep cleaned your deck, the deck professional might need extra time and to use deck-specific detergent, which will increase the overall cost.
You should have your deck professionally cleaned twice a year—once in the spring and once in the fall. A springtime cleaning wipes away grime and mold that accumulated during the wet winter months, making it sparkly clean for summer use. Likewise, cleaning your deck in the fall allows you to wash away grease and leftover mess from the fun summer months rather than letting them soak into your deck over the winter.
The cost to build a deck is $8,025 on average. However, this cost can range anywhere from $1,500 to $22,000, depending on multiple factors, such as size, materials, and deck type. You can expect to pay $30 to $60 per square foot when building a new deck.
Cedar decks are often the most cost-effective option, ranging from $4 to $9per square foot for materials. However, pressure-treated decking, which is resistant to rot, is more expensive, ranging from $15 to $25 per square foot for materials.
