I found this out because I called for service when there was no heat from the HVAC unit. The tech only took 5 minutes on the roof to find the problem. "The repairman listened to the dishwasher for a couple of minutes, and said it needed a motor.  He gave me an estimate of $539.95, including $350 for the motor and $200 for labor.  Seemed like a lot for an old dishwasher. Since my wife and I had installed the dishwasher, I looked on-line and saw that the motor and housing were only $140.  Watched a video, got the part, installed it in a couple of hours, and it is running well.  We saved about $400 from e Appliance's quote.
Price quoted for parts and work seemed very high.
