"Mike and his team helped us fully update and remodel a dark and dingy 1970s ranch house into a beautiful contemporary home for our family. His team (Melvin, Luis and others) were professional, respectful and prompt. Mike is an honest and straightforward contractor who is super responsive and will show up at the job site almost every day to make sure things are done right. I'm sure we'll work with him again in the future."

"We had a great experience working with Kevin on our whole house renovation construction project. He is honest, reliable, and truly a man of his word. Throughout the project, he was committed to doing things the right way and, most importantly, he stuck with the project all the way through to completion. Construction projects can come with unexpected challenges, but he remained dedicated and made sure the job was finished. We really appreciate his hard work, integrity, and commitment. We would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for someone they can trust with their construction project."

"About a year ago we had our frame braced and bolted to the foundation (seismic retrofit) . The Foundation Works did a top notch job with a professional crew at every step. Their price was similar to other bids and they worked with us through the Earthquake Brace and Bolt program. They also stuck to their time lines. We were very happy with them, but here's the cherry on top. We had copper pipes installed recently. When the county inspector was out to inspect that job, he looked at the work under the house. He asked us who did our brace and bolt job. We told him and asked why. He said he could see that they did a really great job."

"I worked with Alpha once before, and they assisted with a second project 2 years ago which, now finally completed, I'm able to write a review about. Alpha helped with structural plans for windows in a garden level unit in order to prepare the proposal for city approval. Alpha is a big company and it took them a little while to complete everything; however I can certainly say that the engineer and contact people were knowledgeable and thorough. The plans were approved with their help and now that the unit is permitted for occupancy, the windows are a lovely attribute to the space."

House Leveling questions, answered by experts

Mudjacking is suitable for sidewalks, driveways, patios, and nearly all exterior flat structures. However, it may not suit severely damaged or heavily cracked areas.

On average, a mudjacking repair lasts between five and 10 years, though it can sometimes last for well beyond a decade under ideal conditions. Its longevity depends heavily on several factors, including the condition of the underlying soil, environmental conditions like freeze/thaw cycles and erosion, and whether the root cause of the sinking, such as drainage issues, is resolved. Because it doesn't always fix the underlying problem of loose soil, mudjacking is often considered a temporary solution. Proper maintenance and evaluation can help extend its lifespan.

Most houses are expected to settle over time, but foundation sinking of more than a few inches or uneven sinking of more than an inch for every 20 feet is cause for concern. Any significant or uneven sinking should be assessed by a professional to determine the cause and perform any necessary repairs.

A sinking foundation can be lifted, most often by installing piers to re-level and support the weight of the house. Depending on the cause and extent of the sinking, other methods to lift a foundation include underpinning and mudjacking. Consult a foundation repair pro to determine the best way to lift your sinking foundation.

Yes, expanding foam (also known as polyurethane foam) can lift concrete. This approach, called polyjacking, involves injecting the foam rather than concrete slurry to fill voids and raise the concrete slab back into place. It’s often faster and requires smaller drill holes than traditional mudjacking, though it may come at a higher cost. Some contractors also prefer polyjacking over mudjacking for more damaged and delicate slabs.
