"KN Remodeling redid my floors, removed a wall and got my JADU permitted, plus many more random fixes. Whatever project I threw at Nathan and his team he got done. They were great and I would use them again."

"My wood balcony has termites and water damages. So I hired RET to do the job. Kevin gave estimates and recommended composite planks for floor and red woods for railings. His workmanship was very professional and finished on time! On top of that, Kevin updated my balcony to the latest building codes. His price is very reasonable. If you want cheap prices and lousy jobs, hire someone else! Highly recommended!"

"From start to finish our experience with Foundation Works was top notch. We did contract them to bolt the foundation on our 1921 Spanish Bungalow home and repair some minor foundation cracks in a 1950's addition. Prior to calling Foundation Works we had two other estimates for work, one was in line with the quote provided by Foundation Works and one was higher with a few additions to the work. So I would say their price was in parity with others. Myron did our initial inspection and spent a lot of time crawling around under our home and doing a very detailed inspection. He spent a long time sitting with us afterwards discussing what he discovered and what he recommended. He was very patient with our many questions. When we tried to add some additional work reinforcing what looked like some long term slippage on the peers under the house he carefully informed us of the history of how houses like ours were built and why we did not need to spend more money doing this repair as it wasn't slippage but rather just how it was built. Once we accepted the bid FW was able to start work quickly. They worked cleanly and while they don't clean up every day before going home they also don't leave a bad mess and the work was all in the backyard so a few piles of tools was not a big deal at all and was painless. The team that did our work was professional, friendly, and efficient. When we had questions they were always there to answer. When we had one (very small) issue related to the nails originally used in the 1920s to hold the corner floorboards in which had jumped up a bit due to the installation of blocks needed to support the bolting in a few places, they stopped work, immediately fixed the issue and adjusted how they worked so it didn't happen again. When the work was done you wouldn't even have known they were here. The yard and all entry points to the crawl space were spotless. The Burbank city inspection was a few days later, they handled it completely and we never needed to worry about a thing until they handed us approvals. The back office and payment process was professional, pleasant, and very low touch. I can't recommend this company more highly."

"I found out about RET Construction Corp through reviews at another well known service website. From initial consultation to final construction, Kevin was great at explaining what was going to happen, design options, and providing strategic context for various decisions I had to make. A modern high-ceiling single-story main house with a detached ADU was built. People are always complimenting the house. Pricing was very competitive. The value for money was even better. You will not go wrong with choosing RET Construction Corp for your project."

"This is THE company to use. I had an old 1907 wooden house sitting on a decaying brick foundation and needing a sister foundation installed and a complete seismic retrofit. Even during the bidding process, Brad from Alpha was extremely attentive without being assertive. I contacted four other companies although one I eliminated since they charged a fee for inspecting. Alpha was very timely with their bid and flexible when I needed help with the budget. All the way through the process, every single person at Alpha was extraordinarily good at customer relations, returned emails immediately, and stayed in constant contact throughout the entire process. Whenever there was a slight change to the original plan due to permitting or a plumbing adjustment, Alpha was very proactive and made sure everything was communicated clearly and promptly. I have really NEVER worked with a company that had such excellent communication skills. This is really one reason I selected them to do the work and, even though they may not have been the least expensive, it is worth the extra price for this reason alone. And Alpha Structural's work speaks for itself as well. Everything was done precisely and well beyond code, an unbid section of foundation was provided under the front porch without increase to the budget, and all materials used were of the highest quality. The project went on somewhat longer than estimated due to permit changes and a short weather delay but was still finished in a timely way. My home is our family's largest asset and it is a great relief to now know it is sitting on a solid foundation. The entire process from first to last was excellent and I cannot say enough good things about the way Alpha Structural handled the project. From the front office to the boots on the ground: A++"

Customers say: True professional

"We decided to remodel our outdated bathroom, and McCormick Home Builders was a fantastic choice. Khaled and the team delivered high-quality work within the timeline and our budget. Every detail, from the tile work to the lighting, was beautifully done. They communicated well throughout, keeping us informed at every step, and the end result was truly a spa-like bathroom we can enjoy daily. We’d love to work with them again!"

House Leveling questions, answered by experts

Mudjacking typically takes 24 to 72 hours (one to three days) to dry and cure completely before you can resume normal use. The total drying time can vary depending on the size of the project. Because the slurry mixture contains cement, it needs to harden fully to prevent the concrete slab from shifting under added weight. You should avoid walking on the concrete or placing heavy items like furniture or vehicles on the surface until it has fully set. Your concrete contractor can provide a precise timeline. As a point of comparison, if you opt for polyjacking, the polyurethane foam can dry in minutes, but it's recommended to wait about an hour before use.

Mudjacking is suitable for sidewalks, driveways, patios, and nearly all exterior flat structures. However, it may not suit severely damaged or heavily cracked areas.

The average cost for mudjacking is around $1,200, though prices can range from $300 to $3,400. On a per-square-foot basis, you can expect to pay between $3 and $8, with an average of about $5 per square foot. The final cost depends on several factors, including the square footage of the concrete, the type of slab, its accessibility, whether it is load-bearing, and the type of material used to lift it. Generally, lifting a driveway, small patio, or sidewalk is less expensive than lifting a slab foundation or garage floor.

A sinking foundation can be lifted, most often by installing piers to re-level and support the weight of the house. Depending on the cause and extent of the sinking, other methods to lift a foundation include underpinning and mudjacking. Consult a foundation repair pro to determine the best way to lift your sinking foundation.

Yes, expanding foam (also known as polyurethane foam) can lift concrete. This approach, called polyjacking, involves injecting the foam rather than concrete slurry to fill voids and raise the concrete slab back into place. It’s often faster and requires smaller drill holes than traditional mudjacking, though it may come at a higher cost. Some contractors also prefer polyjacking over mudjacking for more damaged and delicate slabs.
