    After submitting some basic requirements on Angies List, I received an email and call from SoCal Builders & Design. I spoke with Alex on the phone and noted what I was looking to do and helped me schedule a meeting appointment. Marina reached out the night before and confirmed our meeting time and date. With most companies they typically give you a window of time and far often too wide a range for anyone to have a life that day. Our meeting was scheduled at a specific time and Roei (Pronounced Roy) showed up at that exact time! I realize that not everyone and certainly not all business can function in precise time slots, but as someone that is a planner and appreciates a set schedule, I knew this was a great first impression. Roei was fantastic. We didn’t know anything about the industry or what was involved and he clearly laid out and set proper expectations. Every question was answered and more importantly it felt like you had a buddy over that was visiting which is great when having someone you don’t know in your home.     This my experience with Horizon Construction and Remodeling, and why I recommend them. This is the second time that I have hired a contractor. The first time was a bathroom remodel, and it was a disaster, so I was very apprehensive about hiring another contractor. We needed to remodel our kitchen, so I had no choice. I did my due diligence and research and called three companies to interview. All three I had no prior knowledge of or experience with. Out of the three bids, there was a high, a medium, and a low. After talking to them one more time I went with the medium bid company. That company is called Horizon Construction and Remodeling. It turns out I made the right choice. My experience with this company is the complete opposite from my first experience with a contractor. My Project Manager was Mark, who did an outstanding job of keeping the project moving quickly efficiently. His crews showed up on time, were professional and did quality work, from plumbing to electrical to framing to painting to cabinets all were done to my satisfaction. If something was not done to my satisfaction (which was rare), I just let Mark know about it and he would send someone to either redo or touch-up the work. Mark would visit the job site frequently. I feel Mark is honest and has his customer’s best interest at heart. There were a couple of times when he could have charged me extra money for items that came up during the project, but he did not. Like any project we had to make some changes along the way, and Mark is very willing to work with you to make sure that you get what you want. Mark will listen to your ideas plus he has many ideas himself. He helped us a lot with our kitchen design. They started my project Oct. 11, 2001. My wife and I were hoping to have the project done by Christmas. They had it done in 7 weeks in time for Thanksgiving! The inside staff is led be Enna. They make sure everything is ordered on time. They even arrange for inspections. They are very polite and efficient and responsive. We are doing our doors and windows next and we going to have Horizon Construction and Design do the work. We are 75% done with our full house remodel and it’s been a pleasure working with them. Compared to other proposals they are a bit more expensive but you are paying for premium service and labor; there are no short cuts in work. There were multiple occasions where Tom and his crew went the extra mile and above and beyond, and were trustworthy and honest about work that deemed unnecessary or wasteful, which we appreciated since you’re investing thousands of dollars building your home.     We had OCHB remodel our master bathroom. The work included removing a spa tub, extending the shower area, installing tile and the counter top, and updating the lighting. From the first meeting until the completion of the project we found them to be an excellent company. America and Jimmy were always available to answer questions and responded in a timely fashion. Their cost was reasonable, their work was excellent, and their communication was even better! Every step of the way we were informed about the next day's project, when their staff would arrive and any adjustments in time that needed to be made.     What started out as a professional relationship with Aviv at AP Remodeling has turned into a friendship because like a true friend, Aviv looked out for us, gave us advice and made sure to be there for every step of our remodeling project. Where do I begin with why you should hire Aviv's company for any construction needs in LA?: 1) Transparency: From day one, Aviv was honest and upfront about what it would take to get our kitchen, dining room and bathroom redone. His pricing was clear, fair and he set timeline expectations that worked for us (which he ended up beating!). This gave us a lot of comfort in diving into a challenging project. 2) Personal safety: In these uncertain times with Covid, Aviv made sure that he, his direct team and his sub-contractors masked up anytime they were working in our home or interacting with us. He also cordoned off areas of our home where work was not being done so to avoid minimal disruption. 3) Design Expertise: Aviv gave us some great ideas and his design team did a phenomenal job with the renderings. This way we knew exactly how our remodel was going to look and we had an opportunity to make tweaks to our material design before the work even began. Also after our work was complete, we looked at the renders again and could not tell the difference between the 3D models and real life pictures! 4) Quality of workmanship: Every single sub contractor and person on Aviv's team was a skilled professional. The quality of execution was great and it was done with speed. It was a pleasure to see everyone so involved in their craft and take care of the home in the process. 5) Crisis mitigation: Every project will have some small issues. Whenever that happened, Aviv would personally take responsibility and correct the work so we could get back on track. Next thing you know it, any issue that happened, would be resolved and one would never even know that it happened. 6) Referral Network: Aviv recommended some great vendors to work with and we were so happy to be pointed in the right direction - because this is network, they would coordinate deliveries directly with Aviv's team and we knew that we were getting great service and discounted pricing on high quality material. 7) Communication and office management: Liz in the AP remodeling office and Joshua in the field were also fantastic to work with. We had a weekly schedule, recap of work done and tight coordination with building inspectors - this made it very easy to continue with our schedule while AP's team handled all facets of the remodel. AP remodeling and Aviv are fantastic people - kind, generous and at the end of the day extremely professional. We are so grateful that we got to work with them. My wife and I are so happy with our remodel and can't wait to enjoy our new home for years to come. Thank you again to AP remodeling and Aviv.
