Our house is an older house and the paint was in bad shape. There was a lot of prep work required and they did a phenomenal job paying attention to the details to ensure things were done correctly and also to ensure the overall finish of the job would look great! They were very realistic about the overall scope of work and they were able to knock the job out in 2.5 days. They've followed up since completing the job and made sure to emphasize if we notice anything the more the paint settles to not hesitate to give them a call. To remove adhesive-backed wallpaper, you’ll need to soften the adhesive before you try peeling the wallpaper off the walls. You may wonder whether peel-and-stick wallpaper damages walls. The easiest way to remove wallpaper is to use a steamer. The hot steam will loosen the wallpaper paste and make peeling the wallpaper off in large sheets much easier. Unfortunately, steamers can create irreparable damage on your walls, so it’s not a good idea for DIYers to use steamers to remove wallpaper. Instead, hire a professional wallpaper remover to do the work for you. This method will not only speed up the process, but it will also ensure your walls will remain intact post-wallpapering.

Rubbing alcohol may help dissolve stubborn wallpaper adhesive that remains after removal, but be sure to apply it carefully to prevent damaging your walls. Apply a small amount using a cotton swab or pad, then gently scrape or wipe the adhesive away.

It’s best to remove wallpaper rather than paint over it. You should only paint over wallpaper if removing it would damage the wall, the surface is relatively smooth, or there are minimal problem areas—such as slight peeling and lifted seams—that you can fix easily. Painting over wallpaper can save time, but it can create more problems if the wallpaper is in poor condition and you don’t properly prep the area for painting. Depending on the state of the wallpaper, color, and textures could show through, and moisture from the paint could loosen the adhesive, causing unsightly bubbling.

You can paint over wallpaper, but it’s not usually recommended, especially if the wallpaper underneath is textured or dirty. If you do decide to paint your wallpaper, make sure it’s in good condition and clean it very well. Make sure all corners and edges of wallpaper are glued down before you paint, as well.
