"It was fantastic. Cornelio was prompt and thorough in his assessment of the situation. He even unplugged a major clog we had before we had agreed to a contracted scope of work! I appreciated the extra elbow grease when removing some major roots and his regular updates with the status of the job. Would recommend Valencia to anyone with plumbing issues anytime."

"I hired Build the Bay to remodel my three bathrooms since they did such a good job with my kitchen. All the workmen were complete professionals. Eitan and his crew showed up on time, did what they promised and completed the bathrooms to our satisfaction and on time. My wife and I couldn't be more happy with the results."

"Evan did a great job. I tried to remove the tub faucet myself, but it didn't budge. Evan had the right tool for the job and it came right off and he replace the faucet with a high quality replacement. Next I showed him the leaky faucet connection under my kitchen sink. He found that the O-ring was damage. Evan fixed the leak without having to buy a new Grohe faucet. Finally, he replaced all the RO filters on my Reverse Osmosis system. I had a great experience with Evan and will call him again. He is a professional."

Percolation Tests questions, answered by experts

While it's possible to cover asbestos tile with carpet, it's not recommended. Encapsulating tile beneath carpet doesn't eliminate the health risks. Over time, the asbestos tiles could degrade, releasing fibers into the air and potentially contaminating the carpet. Disturbance during carpet installation or removal might also release fibers.

No, not all popcorn ceilings have asbestos, but a vast majority do. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) banned its use in 1973, although it still may have been used up through the early ‘90s. But, in general, homes built or remodeled before the early ‘80s likely utilized materials with asbestos. That being said, a professional test is the only way to determine for sure.

Knob and tube wiring is an older type of electrical wiring that's no longer used and generally not considered safe. However, some homes still have it, or may have a knob and tube wiring system that was incorrectly modified or rigged to work with a modern electrical system. Knob and tube wiring may contain asbestos insulation, but the only way to know is to have the material professionally tested.

Asbestos was most commonly produced and integrated into building products from the 1920s to the late 1980s. In reality, asbestos use should have ceased much sooner because asbestos was linked to cancer in studies produced as early as the 1950s. You can even extend that number past the 1980s due to stockpiled materials and because some countries treat asbestos use differently. It may also be found more in commercial applications than residential.

Costs depend on test type, home size, number of testing locations, and whether follow-up testing is required.
