"Alex and Ignacio did such an amazing job adding a new fence, driveway pavers, backyard patio, pergola, vine plants, new gates, new lawn and irrigation system! They told me exactly how long it would take them and they finished the entire project on time and on budget. I highly recommend AGS Landscape for any project large or small."

"FABULOUS! A+++ and we would HIGHLY recommend Scott McIntyre and his wonderful and skilled crew. Scott was such a pleasure to work with and he's the complete package with expertise in design concepts, landscape and hardscape. Landscape Solutions delivered top quality work, on time, within our budget, and the end result is better than we envisioned. We are extremely happy with our “new” backyard. They transformed our gopher and weed infested yard into a clean, drought tolerant, low-to-no maintenance oasis. We had a general idea of what we wanted to do but Scott had the vision. Manuel, Jesus, Alex and his brother (sorry, I'm terrible with names) are very nice, timely, efficient, hardworking and knowledgeable. They did a wonderful job of cleaning up after the project was completed. Attached are before and after pictures. Except for the existing concrete patio, retaining wall (which now looks brand new because Scott's crew power washed it), tree, shed and fence, everything was done by Landscape Solutions. Thank you very much Landscape Solutions!"

Small jobs welcome

"Brian did a fabulous job on a large trellis that covers my patio. He was great to work with and the trellis really looks amazing! Very sturdy too - I expect it will last a very long time. He was always on time and communicates along the way. He ensured that I was happy with the product and the process. Highly recommend him!!"

"This was the second project that we’ve had done by Method Paving. The first project was almost 2 years ago where they used paving stones to redo our driveway, front walkway and front porch. They did such a good job the first time, we invited them back to work on our latest project. For this project, we developed a diagram of what we wanted done and had an idea of what type of pavers we wanted installed. We contacted Method Paving to have someone come out to review our project. They sent Nathan Cohen, who we had worked with before. Nathan listened to what we wanted done, took some measurements, and provided a quote which we accepted. Nathan also suggested a different paver color scheme for the patio. We visited the Calstone plant in Sunnyvale, got a map to their “rock garden” from the office, and surveyed the rock garden for the paver styles for our project. We made decisions about the pavers for our project and let Nathan know. They then put us on the schedule. Between the time of the initial quote and the start of the project was a little over 5 weeks. The project itself took 5 days to complete. The new walkway was about 108 square ft. The new patio was around 620 square feet. The new garden border was 25 feet long. Nathan and his crew did a wonderful job. They made sure that what they were doing was what we had asked for. The crew was hard working, and you could tell that they took pride in their work. The finished product was a testimony to their high level of attention to detail. They even exceeded our expectations in one area. Situated on the walkway in the backyard is our heat exchanger for our air-conditioning system. They had to work around it. We were expecting after the work was done that we would still see what was left of the the concrete slab that the heat exchanger was sitting on. To our surprise, they installed pavers so that the concrete slab would be hidden all of the way around the heat exchanger. If we have another project in the future where we could use their services, we would certainly give them a call."

"It went so much better than I had hoped.   I can't say enough good things about my experience.   When I saw the completed job, I was absolutely shocked that they were able to transform my patio from what it was into what it is now.  It looks absolutely wonderful.  Fantastic.  General debris was removed.  My ficus and bouganvillia were both terribly overgrown.  They  were heavily pruned and now look great.  My fatsia japonica was also overgrown since it had not been trimmed in over 20 years and now looks beautiful too.  My hydrangea (which I thought was, as they say,  on its last leg and could not be saved) was cut way back and I was instructed about how to care for it as it grew back.  Dead plants were removed from both the ground and also from some pots I had.  My geranium was pruned and a Lady Banks rose was also pruned in such a way that it will be possible to train it to grow along the fence using some wires, if I get permission to put wires along the fence from the condo association.  I also have three cordalynes (at least I think that is what they are) which have grown from 1-2 feet when I first planted them to about 10-12 feet now.  Nothing has ever been done with them and they were looking somewhat ragged.  They were also cleaned up and now look really beautiful too.  Some leftover compost  I had lying around was spread out over  an area that had been nothing but weeds.  Chairs that could be folded and stacked, were.  I can't say enough good things about the transformation that they did.  They even put  all the refuse in a dumpster since we don't have curbside pickup or recyling of plant material at the condo complex that I live in.

"I am very happy with the result of Cal Preserving's work on my patio deck.  A very good value for money in my opinion.  Bruce Watkins was responsive to my request for a quote, and did his best to get the work done in a timely manner.  Cal Preserving is busy (and good for them!) so it took several conversations to get the work scheduled.  I appreciated the fact that Bruce wanted to my job when the crews would be in the area doing other work.  My job was small and able to be completed it in two days. I was impressed by their honesty about my deck not needing to be sanded, which saved me at least $400.
Good guys, I'll use them again!
Thanks Bruce.

"A friend recommended Natural Vibrations for our backyard patio and landscape renovation. She said Kris and Aaron did a great job, gave her money-saving ideas, finished the job on time, and were great to work with. She was right on all counts. Kris and Aaron, with Tony's help, did an outstanding job with the demolition of the existing concrete patio, preparing the site for new pavers, and laying porcelain pavers. Aaron is a perfectionist, and everything was perfect, including edges, corners, and slope. The landscaping refresh and new sprinkler layout was also great. They had great suggestions, listened to our input, and were easy to work with. We love our new backyard, and will definitely call them again for future projects."

"Prestige did such an amazing job in my backyard. He built a retaining wall to level my backyard installed synthetic turf that just looks so amazing and natural. He also did an interlocking paver patio. He was fast efficient and his estimate was well on point compared to others who are charging outrageous prices. I will use them in the future for my front yard. Thank you Carlos your amazing !"

Patios questions, answered by experts

In almost all cases, you will need permits if you plan on building a sunroom over your patio, but regulations and requirements will depend on your municipality. Permits to enclose your patio will usually cost between $300 and $1,000. Since navigating local building codes and zoning requirements is challenging—and the consequences of not following them can be extremely expensive—we strongly recommend hiring a sunroom builder to complete the work and pull the permits for you.

Creating a screen room is one of the most cost-effective ways to enclose a patio so you can still use it in the winter. Most screen rooms aren’t insulated, so you’ll need to wrap up warm or use patio heaters in winter. Also, be aware they might not hold up well if you live in a location where heavy snow is common.

In most cases, you can attach a greenhouse to any type of house. However, certain factors need to be considered, such as the structural integrity of the house, available space, and local building regulations. You should consult with a professional contractor or architect to assess the feasibility and ensure proper construction methods.

A screened-in porch can add value to your home, with a potential return on investment (ROI) of 70% to 84%. The actual value added depends heavily on several factors. Climate is a major consideration; homes in warm, humid, or buggy areas (like the Southern regions) see the highest ROI. In colder climates, the value is diminished as the unconditioned space is unusable for much of the year. Other factors that influence the return include the quality of materials and construction, the size of the porch, and the local real estate market. While a screened-in porch can enhance curb appeal and attract potential buyers, it is not included in the home's total square footage for appraisal purposes.

Building a sunroom is usually less expensive than the cost of building a home addition, but it depends on the type of sunroom. A four-season sunroom will cost more than a home addition because it’s basically a home addition with larger, more expensive windows. All other types of sunrooms will be more affordable than a home addition of an equivalent size because they don’t have insulation, heating, cooling, electrical connections, or plumbing.
