Hi my name is Mike and I have been in the business for 40 years. I specialize in almost all of your fixing and building needs. I also do some some electrical work pulling power to put in recessed lighting, changing out light switches and ceiling fans. If I can't do it I have people in any industry you desire to get the job done. My hourly rate is very competitive and I give $10 off an hour for seniors. 65 plus. I'm a third generation Santa Barbara and I conduct my business up in the Santa Ynez Valley. On Angie, I have a 4.8 out of 5 stars over my last 30 plus customers. I have many years of experience in Handyman work, odd jobs, electrical, carpentry, plumbing, landscaping, gophers, window cleaning and cleaning solutions. Previously a field tech (handyman) within the USPS for 8 years as well as 20 total years of home improvement and 'fix-it' experience. I'm trustworthy, will be in time, very respectful, easy to work with, will text back quickly. Most contractors are grumpy, intimidating and charge way too much. I'm going to get it done, give you a quality service and leave you with money for groceries!

Door Repair questions, answered by experts

To reset cabinet doors, start by loosening the hinge screws slightly. Align the door properly with the cabinet frame, ensuring even gaps around the edges. Tighten the screws to hold the position. If the door is still misaligned, fine-tune the alignment by making small adjustments.  Afterward, ensure the door opens and closes smoothly.

The best way to keep water out of a sliding glass door track is to regularly clean the tracks so debris doesn't build up and block the drainage holes. Exposure to water can cause your tracks to warp or rust to accumulate on your rollers and keep the door from sliding smoothly.

There are many types of deadbolts, but these tips work on most. First, address any grime buildup. A bit of WD-40 will loose up rust and dirt so the deadbolt can turn. Inspect the door and frame alignment if this doesn't resolve the issue. Adjust the strike plate or the deadbolt's position to improve alignment. If the problem persists, disassemble the lock to inspect for damaged or worn parts. If you are unsure how to do it, hire a local locksmith.

Yes, spray foam is simple and effective for filling in holes in a door. Use low-expansion aerosol foam insulation to avoid creating too much pressure. Stuff some old newspaper around the inside perimeter of the hole to contain the spray foam, and then fill the void with foam. Once it dries, cut the foam flush with the door's surface, apply a few coats of spackle, sand it down, and paint.

A heat source close to the door can help reduce its swelling. However, this will only work in the case of minimal swelling. Sometimes, you can simply wait for the weather to change, but your best option is to prevent the swelling in the first place. Coat the door with weather-resistant paint or a water-repellent finish.
