"My wife and I purchased a fixer-upper home that ended up requiring more work than we initially anticipated. We ended up taking bids from numerous contractors for various projects required to be done before moving my family into the home. Initially, I hired James to demo the original tile flooring to prep for new flooring, which was scheduled to be installed by a large flooring company. I was very impressed with Jamess professionalism and apparent, sincere dedication in ensuring his work was completed right the first time. I decided to contract James to do more work to our home. Ultimately, James ended up demoing bathrooms, replacing upstairs sub floors, structural framing work, removing every interior door (down to studs) and installing new doors, and installed new bathroom vanities/showers. We have a closet in the home that had an oddly shaped door that I was unable to find at any big box store or other door supply stores. James custom made a door for the closet, which matched all of the other doors in the house! I was so impressed with James quality of work, timeliness, and work ethic, II decided to have him complete the new flooring installation. I contacted the large flooring company and cancelled my installation with them. James installed our new vinyl flooring throughout the house, which included stairs. James also installed new 5 baseboards throughout the entire house (approx 3000 square feet). I give James my highest recommendation for anyone looking for a knowledgeable contractor whose priority is to do the work right and ensure his clients are 100% satisfied. We have received countless compliments from family and friends who have visited our home. People are shocked in our homes transformation, especially in such a short time, which all credit deservingly goes to James with Brodie Development, Inc"

The wood had rotted from water hitting the door. The stained glass meant a lot and I never thought I would be able to save it. I saw Innovative Visions on Angi. Ramon came by and explained what they could do. They started and finished the door today. It looks much better than when it was first done. Moving stained glass from one place to another is challenging and they did it so beautifully. Ismael and the guys are artists. While cabinet door hinges come in many shapes and sizes, they typically have some adjustment options, so check your hinge design thoroughly. If you find hinges without adjustment screws, they’re often amateur works or very simple constructions. In these cases, you don’t have as many options. You can try unscrewing the hinges and carefully repositioning them with the help of a level to fix cabinet door issues. But it may be easier to replace the hinges entirely rather than go through this tedious process.

There are a few reasons why your storm door won’t close when the front door closes. One possible explanation is that there’s air trapped between the two doors. If your door has a glass insert, try cracking it open slightly for better circulation. 

Alternatively, there might be an issue with your storm door closer. If you have a hold-open washer, make sure to slide it all the way toward the hinges before shutting the door. You can also try adjusting the tension on the closer.

The vast majority of hinges are symmetrical, and either side of the hinge can go on the door or the frame. Occasionally, you'll find a hinge specifically made for right or left-handed doors with different attachment hardware or larger plates on one side. In most cases, the large side of the hinge goes on the frame.

It is possible to install hinges backward, so be careful when placing them. Position the hinge so that the hinge pin faces the direction the door will swing. For example, if you're standing on the side the door will open into, the pin should be visible. Be extra careful when installing exterior doors, as placing the hinges on the outside for an outward-facing door makes your home much easier to break into.

Very small adjustments can sometimes be made while the door is on its hinges. Be sure to stabilize the door with a doorstop before you begin. Planing the bottom of the door, around the hinges or latch, or planing a large surface should all be done once the door is removed.

Over time, the weight of a door and wear on the hinge itself can cause hinge pins to come loose and fall out. It’s a good idea to periodically check your hinges to ensure the pins are fully in place. If your hinge pins have become loose, gently tap them back into place with a hammer or replace the pin.
