Hi my name is Mike and I have been in the business for 40 years. I specialize in almost all of your fixing and building needs. I also do some some electrical work pulling power to put in recessed lighting, changing out light switches and ceiling fans. If I can't do it I have people in any industry you desire to get the job done. My hourly rate is very competitive and I give $10 off an hour for seniors. 65 plus. I'm a third generation Santa Barbara and I conduct my business up in the Santa Ynez Valley. On Angie, I have a 4.8 out of 5 stars over my last 30 plus customers. My motto is, Taking pride in excellent work! Thank you for your time. Mike Villarreal 805-698-4050.

I have many years of experience in Handyman work, odd jobs, electrical, carpentry, plumbing, landscaping, gophers, window cleaning and cleaning solutions. Previously a field tech (handyman) within the USPS for 8 years as well as 20 total years of home improvement and 'fix-it' experience. I'm trustworthy, will be in time, very respectful, easy to work with, will text back quickly. Most contractors are grumpy, intimidating and charge way too much. I'm going to get it done, give you a quality service and leave you with money for groceries!

Door Repair questions, answered by experts

First, make sure you seal or finish your door after installation. There are many different sealants and wood finishes on the market designed to prevent moisture from infiltrating wood surfaces. Additionally, do your best to control humidity around your door using a dehumidifier. Any exterior wood doors should be protected by glass storm doors to reduce water exposure.

First, determine what is causing the issue. If the doorframe was improperly installed without a consistent width from top to bottom, you’ll need to contact a door installer to install a new doorframe. If loose or missing screws are causing the issue, you can fix the problem with a few turns of a screwdriver. Other problems require removing the door and supporting it in the proper place with shims while you reinstall it.

To keep a door level on an uneven surface, use shims or scraps of underlayment to hold the door level while you attach the hinges. Keep in mind that on an uneven surface, the slope of the floor when open may not be the same as when it’s shut. Use a level to keep from shimming your door too much or too little while attaching the hinges.

Butterfly hinges are one of the most common types of hinges and you can use them all over your home. Though they’re common on doors, cabinets, and shutters, you can even find them on decor, like jewelry boxes, music boxes, and trunks. Doors may have basic butterfly hinges, while the hinges on cabinets and decor may be more ornate.

The best way to keep water out of a sliding glass door track is to regularly clean the tracks so debris doesn't build up and block the drainage holes. Exposure to water can cause your tracks to warp or rust to accumulate on your rollers and keep the door from sliding smoothly.
