"Global Comfort installed a full HVAC system in my home; 7 new runs for air, new AC unit, new furnace and a new Nest thermostat, all electrical needs. Rudy and his team are respectful, efficient, punctual, competitive in pricing. Rudy walked me through running the system for its first time and explained all the stuff for a brand new system in a house that never had AC. I'm very thankful for the work they did. Highly recommend because their customer service is top notch."

"The first week of December we came home to a cold house. The thermostat was working, we could hear the furnace come on but no heat. We contacted Gas and Electric thinking the pilot had gone out. The technician came out and checked the furnace and the pilot was fine but the HSI had burnt out. He explained this part has about a 5 year lifespan. He let us know the part was roughly $25 to $50 and it would take about 15 minutes to change out - a very easy DIY job. We decided to have an HVAC technician come out as the furnace had not been serviced in  a couple of years. We called around to a couple of places  from the list and the quickest appointment was with Albert Nahman Heating and Plumbing. The tech was prompt and professional. He asked where the furnace was located and we explained  it was under the house and due to the recent rains it was a little damp under there. We explained that while we had a sump pump it was a little muddy in the entryway. He said no problem and grabbed a shovel and cleared the mud away and then went to work on the furnace.. He tested the furnace to make sure it really was just the HSI. He replaced the part and had us test the furnace turning on and off the thermostat a couple of times while he was there to make sure everything was working properly. He did let us know that it would be a good idea to schedule a complete cleaning of the furnace and ducts. He showed us the dust etc that was collecting and explained how that will shorten the lifespan of the parts.  The tech was fantastic. The only downside was the pricing. The $50 part was $325. If you are someone who is not good at DIY/ doesn't relish going into crawl spaces or under the house and needs a technician who will explain how everything works and what they need to do as well as what they recommend for future maintenance, then Albert Nahman Heating and Plumbing is reliable.

"Truthfully, we had angst about calling for service because of past experience with other HVAC vendors. They always said the same thing, our system is "old" and we need a new one. Very expensive! We called for service, not a hard sell! Hence, we never used the same one twice. However, Tyndall gave me the impression, whether right or wrong, that they would be less likely to do this so I decided to try them. They kept me informed of their arrival status, since they squeezed me in at the end of their work day the same day I called. So, communicative and accommodating! After running several tests, they determined it was an electrical problem and nothing to do with the unit itself. They also said our unit doesn't need replacing - that's a first! They didn't do any unnecessary service or repair to run up the bill or even try to convince us it was needed. We were only charged the minimum fee as quoted. We were able to repair our air conditioning without the "hard-sell angst". So, thorough and honest! Unlike the other HVAC vendors we've used, we definitely will call them if we need service again!"

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

Many factors affect how much adding air conditioning will cost you, from the size of your home to the size, type, brand, and installation specifics of the system itself. Chances are, a new central air conditioning system for a 2,000-square-foot house will cost somewhere between $3,900 and $7,900 to install, with an average around $6,000

Yes, you can clean AC coils yourself. Just make sure that the power to your AC system is off before you begin. You’ll need some basic tools and supplies, including a soft brush, cloth, screwdriver, and a commercial or homemade cleaning solution. Cleaning your coils will only cost about $10.

As a general rule, you should have your HVAC system professionally serviced at least once a year, though it's best to follow the manufacturer's specific recommendations. Many experts suggest twice-yearly maintenance: once in the spring for the cooling system and once in the fall for the heating system. This is especially recommended for older units, systems with recurring issues, or heat pumps that provide both heating and cooling. Regular service, which can cost between $100 and $550, keeps the system running efficiently, helps prevent costly future repairs, and saves money on utility bills.

Traditional central air conditioning systems require ductwork to circulate air throughout the home. Alternatively, you can add air conditioning with a mini-split ductless air conditioning system, which can be just as energy efficient as a central air conditioner. This type of system consists of two units–an outside unit that holds the compressor and condenser and an indoor unit that holds an air-handler. With multi-zone ductless systems, there are multiple indoor air handlers tied to a single outdoor compressor/condenser, allowing the system to cool multiple rooms.

You can air condition your Arizona room by extending your home’s existing HVAC system or adding a ductless mini-split system. Arizona rooms that have full windows rather than screens only are a better choice for air conditioning—screens will let the cold air out as fast as the air conditioner can make it.
