Small jobs welcome

"Geovany and his team did an amazing job at my house cleaning attic removing all debris lid insulation, sanitizing and air sealing attic, installing new insulation and radiant barrier. Job was done in a clean and professional manner. Team was polite and professional. I would recommend Fibers Insulation to anyone looking to upgrade or replace their insulation or just looking to add radiant barrier to their attic for a cooler more energy efficient home."

"We had no problem or issue with this company. They came and did exactly what they said and promised. The service was fast too. We were able to schedule them for the same week and the work was completed after 2 days of work. According to the technician that worked at our house, it was better to use the opportunity when the attic empty from the old insulation and to replace the ducts as well. For the price that we were able to got, we decided to do that too.
so overall, we are in the stage that we will use this company in the future and we will refer them to people that we know and might need the same kind of work to be done.

"We recently had Mega Power Electric Inc install a solar system and panels. The President and provided excellent communication all the way through the process. He even met with us after installation to explain the almost incomprehensible PG&E bill. Although not the least expensive bid, his was competitive and I felt he was as interested in educating me about solar and the various types of panels and inverter systems as he was in selling a system. He demonstrated how the array of panels would meet our energy needs and as opposed to some of the other companies, wasn't selling us more than we needed. We are very satisfied with our solar system and I highly recommended Mega Power Electric Inc."

"The price was fair, the work was completed in one day and included removing all our old insulation, cleaning the ductwork, installing new R-35 batting, and an attic fan, and two ultraviolet lights in our HVAC units. I am very pleased with their responsiveness, and with the quality of the work completed. I would definitely hire them again - highly recommended!"

"They were timely, efficient and the supervisor was hands on. They are fanstastic and did an excellent job. They put extra mounting and insulation to reduce the noise. My neighbors can't even hear the system running when they are outside. I cannot recommend them enough."

"Jim is amazing. We needed new windows for the bedrooms - the old ones were original from 1949 and no longer closed! Jim came over and helped walk me through the options. He also did a quick assessment of other areas where we might be losing energy efficiency and offered multiple solutions (some of which he suggested I could even do myself). The new windows are beautiful and keep the cold air out!! When I'm ready to order more for the other areas of the house and to insulate our walls, I will be sure to call Jim. He is very knowledgeable, friendly and believes in his work. It shows! Thanks Jim and Healthy Homes 4 U!

Insulation questions, answered by experts

Yes, doggie doors, like all entrances, can let both hot and cold air into your home. However, as with any door in your house, you can take steps to weather-strip your pet's entrance to prevent air leaks.

Through R-value assessments based on climate and existing insulation.

While a few icicles on your roof are standard, a large accumulation can be a sign of a bigger problem, such as poor insulation. This is particularly true if you are also dealing with ice dams. If you have numerous large icicles, it is recommended to have a roofing contractor diagnose potential insulation issues and create a plan to solve them.

Each of the three types of wool insulation has particular disadvantages. While their R-value is higher, they all cost more than fiberglass versions. Installing mineral wool and sheep wool requires protective gear. Because of its vulnerability to insects, chemicals are used in its production. Hemp wool is more costly to install than other types because additional tools and labor are involved.

Insulating windows with plastic works, but it can be time-consuming, and the end results can—and often do—end up lacking in aesthetics. Window film and caulking your windows to make sure there are no drafts are two options that increase the energy efficiency of your home in a low-cost way. Plastic can be a good strategy while you consider alternatives.
