"3 ceiling fans and 1 ceiling light were installed in 1 day as promised. I like that they text me a day before to confirm/remind me of the upcoming appointment, and that they show up on time. They were courteous and professional. They cleaned up, patched up, and vacuum after the job. I'm pleased with the job performed and would definitely use them again for any future electrical related jobs."

"We thought our exhaust fan needed to be replaced because it sounded like it had died a horrible death. Replacement would have been a nightmare since I have an old house which means everything that dies is a pain in the neck to find a replacement for. But Shalom told us all it needed was a good cleaning which he did and now is running better than before. I was so impressed because it would have been so easy to just say 'replace it'. Shalom is a wonderful person, warm and earnest. I could have talked to him all day he was so interesting. He explained everything so simply so I could understand. After trying out six other companies it was a no brained to make Shalom my go to guy. I stick with companies for a looong time my plumbers been with us 25 years so that says a lot. I think he's great and highly recommend him."

"Jose and team were amazing. The price was fair. The guys worked efficiently and clean. I couldn't be happier. They installed a Level 2 charger in my carport and added a main transfer switch to a location away from the main breaker box. We are very happy."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Unless you’re a licensed electrician, you should not DIY any electrical work in your home. Working with wires and electricity is potentially dangerous to both you and the structure you’re working on, and it could lead to house fires or electric shock if you’re not 100% sure what you’re doing. There’s a big difference between changing a light switch cover and rewiring an entire home. If you’re staring down a potentially difficult electrical job, give a pro a call.

According to the National Electrical Code (NEC), GFCI outlets should be installed in wet or damp locations where they might be splashed with water or other liquids. This is to protect against ground faults, which are more common around water. Specific areas that require GFCI outlets include kitchens (especially near counters), bathrooms, laundry rooms, basements, garages, and all outdoor receptacles. Depending on local electrical codes, you may need at least one GFCI outlet in these rooms, or every outlet in the area may need to be GFCI protected.

If you’re wondering whether an electrical panel in the bathroom needs to be moved, the answer is yes. Due to the risks of shocks and electrical fires, electrical panels cannot be located in bathrooms per National Electric Code Volume 70. Additionally, gasses, vapors, liquids, and temperature fluctuations can all compromise the functionality of your electrical panel, so it’s important to install it in a dry, cool, safe, and easily accessible location.

As a safety measure, you should always turn off the main breaker while operating your generator’s backup breaker. In addition, you should also switch off all appliance breakers so you don't have a power surge when the main breaker turns back on. And finally, turning off the main breaker prevents back-feeding, which endangers utility workers with the risk of electrocution. Back-feeding could also destroy the electrical circuits of your neighbors if they use the same power network.

The common, marked as COM or C, is one of the terminals found in your light switch. It houses the live wire that supplies the input voltage. The other terminals, marked as L1 or L2, are the outputs to the light fixtures. Depending on if you have a one-way or two-way switch, you’ll either have just an L1 terminal or both an L1 and L2 terminal.
