"We’re so happy we were recommened Honeybee Electirc. Hector upgraded our electrical panel and also installed the connector for an EV charging station. The whole job went really smoothly from start to finish. Everything passed Edison inspection with no problems, which gave us a lot of peace of mind. He was friendly, professional, and just really easy to work with. What we appreciated most was that he didn’t just do the panel upgrade and leave, he also took the time to help organize and clean up our electrical system overall, which was above and beyond what we expected. It’s hard to find someone who does great work and is also kind and personable, but he really checked all the boxes. We’re very happy with the work and would definitely hire him again and recommend him to others."

"Mike with Selectric exceeded our expectations! We were in need of an electrician, so a friend of mine recommended him. I contacted him, he was very responsive and once we spoke about the issue we were having he was kind enough to check it out the next day. He explained throughly what needed to be done, which made me feel reassured that he knew what he was doing. We are very pleased with his work, will definitely be using his services again!"

Electrical questions, answered by experts

An outlet can trip because the circuit it’s on is overloaded, meaning the devices plugged into it are drawing more power than the circuit can safely carry. Another culprit could be because a power surge from a storm or accident caused a problem with your local electrical grid or there’s a short or a fault causing power to run through the circuit in a dangerous or unplanned way.

If your microwave is on the fritz and you suspect the fuse has blown, you can check it to confirm it’s the source of the problem. Start by disassembling the panel and carefully checking the fuse filament or ceramic components. If your microwave uses a glass fuse, you’ll likely see discoloration and a melted filament. If your microwave contains a ceramic fuse, you’ll need to use a multimeter continuity tester to check if there’s continuity.

In addition to grounding your outlets, you may want to hire an electrician for the following:

These additional electrical services ensure that your home’s electrical system is in working order and will accommodate your ground outlets.

Unless you have prior electrical experience, it’s best to hire a professional to install your new thermostat for you. Improper installation can damage wiring, lead to a blown fuse, and more.

No, it doesn’t matter which of the two wires goes on each of the two switch terminals. Just be sure to put the ground wire in the correct terminal. The ground wire is either green, bare copper, or green with a yellow stripe. The other wires are hot wires and are typically black. They can be used interchangeably.
