"I found Francis Junk Removal through Angi’s list and I’m so glad I did. I spoke to Jesse Francis and he quoted me a very reasonable and fair rate based on what I told him I had. When Jesse came to pick up there were a few additional items and he still kept his rate within a reasonable range and quoted me before he got started. Jesse was on time, friendly and listened to instructions so the job was done right. Jesse moved and hauled items away efficiently quickly and did NOT leave a mess behind, very professional."

"Discount Hauling was great! The wheelchair weighed 250 pounds and the wheels were not working. The two of them dragged it to the driveway and then removed the batteries - they knew exactly how to do it. They then lifted it onto the truck. They were prompt, professional, efficient, and very nice guys. The cost was much lower than the other bids I received."

"Shav’s Furniture Movers were fantastic! They were professional, prompt, equipment was in good condition, clean and well maintained. Everyone we spoke with was professional and courteous. The owner (Shav) and 2 other staff were at there and they all were busy for the entire time they were hired for my move. They weren’t off taking cigarette breaks every 20/30 minutes like movers I’ve used in the past, recently used before finding Shav’s Furniture Movers. Shav and his staff are so pleasant and kind, they show up on time and clean (unlike past movers), but most importantly they were respectful to me and my belongings, regardless what they were moving for me they understood it has meaning to me or was precious to me. For all the reasons we have used Shav’s Furniture Movers a 2nd time and planing a 3rd project need for their services in the next few months. If anyone is in need of moving services for long or short distances I highly recommend giving Shav’s Furniture Movers a call right away, you won’t be disappointed."

Hauling questions, answered by experts

Preparation involves site assessment, clearing debris, grading surfaces, and compacting soil to support stable construction.

Focus on decluttering when downsizing to move cross-country. Selling, donating, or recycling unwanted items early in your moving process is key to your success. If you are on the fence about some items, consider storage options, or you can ship these items separately to lessen your load.

Yes, most furniture can be thrown in a dumpster. Wood items like tables, chairs, and bookshelves are generally acceptable. However, some areas have regulations prohibiting the disposal of mattresses and upholstered furniture in a dumpster. It's important to check with both the dumpster rental company for their guidelines and your local waste authority for any specific rules or potential extra fees.

Plan on cleaning your crawl space at least once a year, though twice a year is ideal. During the cleaning, remove any debris or dust and check for potential issues like pest infestations or water damage. The sooner you catch these issues, the easier (and cheaper) it will be to fix them.

If you can’t repair and repurpose your shed, it might be possible to sell it, donate it, or salvage parts rather than them just ending up in a landfill. Professional junk removal services will advise you on what can and will be recycled. You may also want to keep some parts to upcycle them for other projects around your home. Turning planks from your memory-filled wooden shed into a coffee table or bed headboard is good for the environment and the soul.
